Looks like I need a abandon DD-WRT which I'd prefer not to do Sad and buy a commercial repeater bridge.

Davee

Have you updated your DIR-615 D2 to latest 26446 ? I've changed routers now (WNDR3800 is main router and DIR-615 D2 is Repeater Bridge, both on 26446) and I don't see any problems. Fast, stable.

I haven't tried switching places (i.e. DIR-615 as main and WNDR3800 as Repeater), I didn't like that setup at all, the WNDR3800 was slow when the AR9285 client connected to DIR-615, but it's also true that I didn't try with both on 26446.

Happy to try that - I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks

Well what a difference!! That works very nicely thank you - 19Mbit+/second.

I'd be interested to know what the problem was ...

Thanks again

Strange...
Please remind me what was the build that you had before 26446, the one that still gave you problems (slowness) ? I'll check to see what has changed between that build and 26446.

Your tutorial is great, it works for my router (a DLink-615). But in my tests I only succeed when the security of the main router is set to open or WPA, when I tried WEP the second router could not connect to the main router. I like to use WEP (although I know that it is not quite safe) but I didn’t know how to configure the dd-wrt router, in the setup page of the main router with WEP setting there are just two option: static and share key, but in the dd-wrt router there are many other things. Would you please tell me how to connect the dd-wrt router to the main router with WEP static security?

Just setup a repeater bridge on r26653 using my D-Link DIR-615 D2. My main AP has QoS enabled but still giving decent speeds on 41% using build r26653

Could you please report your findings in the 26653 thread: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=280456

Ive found that using Vdsl/Adsl IPS`s you need to input your providers DNS somewhere so it uses that..

Stops disconnections for me
