Issue with
Router - TPLink MR3020 3G Router
Modem - ZTE AC2766 EvDO Modem

This modem with same configurations set working till
01-04-2015-r25760

From the next upgrade to 25948, the modem doesnt connect.

From telnet, i can see its detected fine and modeswitch work is done.

Solutions tried
1. After upgrade, reset configuration and reconfigure again - reboot
2. Did a 30-30-30 reset
3. Tried on 3 hardwares TP-Link MR3020

As soon as i revert back to 25760 or earlier build, it starts connecting.

Please read my previous replies. I have given exact firmwares when issue started and the last working firmware too.

I have also done a 30-30-30 reset

Moreoever LOM has confirmed that issue exists in another users thread 2 days back and have informed Brainslayer. So i am now just waiting for LOM / Brainslayer update on the same

You might have to personally post the error on trac 188 changes were made from builds 01/04/2015 and 01/17/2015 if i had to take a guess about why your 3g modem cannot connect it would have to be the ath9k updates that was introduced on 25928, 25929 and 25930 lack of power to the unit due to update? that would be my guess. My advice would be to just point out what i narrowed down on trac here http://svn.dd-wrt.com/timeline with your telnet post and if you like my suggestions and i hope for it to be solved.

I am accessing from TAB, i will point out to LOMs post in an hour.

upto this firmware its working fine r25760
Its not a power issue, as i have tried using an external hub towards the modem + i also tried a higher amp supply on 1 of my routers.

Either ways it doesnt work right from 25948

I appreciate your time, thank you

Please check this link where LOM has posted the below response.

The culprit is most likely changeset r25887 which is an update of the ppp module, this is basically the only changeset of the 188 which could affect mobile broadband.

Tested on latest build 05-09-2015-r26866, bug still exists.

LOM, can u help push this to his attention ? its been 2 months and I really would like to try newer builds. I understand there are other priorities, but if something could be done, it would have been nice n helpfull

My modem and my hardware are completely different, but I can confirm that the same thing happened to me. 25760 works, 25948 does not. The latest firmware also does not work.

Netgear WNDR4300 v1
Novatel USB760.

I have submitted a possible fix at http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/4745#ticket

It's just a guess, but I wonder if an ifconfig command could be inserted into the boot commands and it work somehow or if it will need to be fixed by the devs?
