Hello there,

Is U.S. Robotics 5461 supported by any dd-wrt micro edition?

USR5461 has Broadcom 5350 @ 200MHz, 2MB Flash, 8MB RAM & USB.

Any guidance will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Yes, I read it. That is where I found USR 5461 hardware info, but that is openwrt and what I want to use is the micro edition of dd-wrt, then trying to figure out how to use an SD card reader on the USB port to increase capacity.
And since there is support for WRT54G v5 using micro edition, which has similar RAM & Flash, I'm just trying to confirm if is it possible(or not) to flash USR5461 with dd-wrt.

Any success story?

Thanks in advance,
Orlando

Is there any plan to support USR5461 in v24?

I could just work, but it could not.
To add support I need at least nvram dump. The best would be to have cfe.bin and nvram.bin got with JTAG cable.

Thanks for reply, Eko,

I've already flashed v23 sp3 and v24 micro generic into the router, it worked for a while. I can even setup the client bridge working with whr-g125 w/ dd-wrt v.24.
Then after I changed some settings on basic setup (connection type, local ip address, disable dhcp, etc.) then the router keeps rebooting every 5-10 seconds

There are some information about this router on openwrt
http://wiki.openwrt.org/USR5461

I am a newbie in this area, so I do not have JTAG or CFE dump. but the factory firmware is a GPL open source, so you can find the firmware source code here
http://www.usr.com/support/s-gpl-code.asp

Maybe you can reference something in there source code to DD-WRT too for the USB and printer server support. Smile

Cool. Then when you have working dd-wrt on it, telnet in, and do

Code:
cat /dev/mtd/0 > /tmp/www/cfe.jpg
cat /dev/mtd/3 > /tmp/www/nvram.jpg

Then point your browser to 192.168.1.1/user/cfe.jpg and save file as cfe.bin.
Do the same for nvram.bin

pm me the files then.

I will do that.

Just got home from work and it's already midnight here. I flashed the router back to usr official firmware after it kept rebooting.

I will do that tomorrow night, flash it to dd-wrt micro then pm you the bin files.

Hope you can figure out more about this router. :-)

Thanks

I was unable to load the latest v24 micro generic from

http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/down.php?path=downloads%2Fbeta%2FGENERIC+BROADCOM+%28Linksys%2CAsus+etc.%29%2Fdd-wrt.v24+beta%2F2007+-+0815/

into the usr5461, with or without adding the header using

https://dev.openwrt.org/attachment/ticket/817/usr5461.diff

usr5461 does have WAIT during the boot, as I was able to restore the original firmware during boot with tftp.

Eko, were you able to gain some further information from flytiger's cfe and nvram files?

Thanks

anymore status on this? I want to install dd-wrt on this. I believe kamikaze works to a point so dd-wrt should be possible.

What is the best way to install dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin into the USROBOTICS 5461? since the standard file format from USROBOTICS is .USR and those ones are .BIN's
