So, I got my hands on a TP Link 3600 v1.4 and managed to change its firmware to "WDR3600 v1.x Firmware - Webflash image for first installation"
My objective is to use it as an AP+Switch (I have another Router working as "primary" a Gateway/Router).
This is the setup I currently have (and that I would like that worked perfectly):
Optic Fibre
|
ONT
|
Technicolor TG784n v3 (1st Gateway/Router) ---> Wireless SSID named "X"
|
| (Ethernet Cable)
|
TP Link 3600
\--> Wireless SSID named "Y"
\__ TV's Box (Ethernet Cable)
\__ TV (Ethernet Cable)
The problem is that, although the Wireless SSID named "Y" (from TP Link 3600) is always present and that I'm able to get an IP and connect to it, most of the times I have no internet access (I get that annoying "!")...
The "solutions" that I've being using are:
- either to wait a couple of hours (and then it's OK again)
- or to turn TP Link 3600 Off for some seconds and then turn it On again...
Additional infos:
-> Changes I made in TP Link 3600/dd-wrt settings
. WAN Connection Type:
Connection Type -> Disabled
. Network Address Server Settings (DHCP):
DHCP Type -> DHCP Server
DHCP Server -> Disable
- Wireless SSID named "X" (from Technicolor TG784n v3) always works fine
- TV's Box and the TV, both connected with Ethernet cables from TP Link 3600, always work fine
Probably this is just a noobish problem but can someone help me with this?

Hello,
I would suggest you try the connection watchdog, located under Administration, Keep Alive. Set it to ping an external IP such as the OpenDNS or Google DNS public servers. If it can't find them, it will automatically reboot. I use the feature for WDS, but it can be used for what you need as well. Doesn't solve the problem though.
