Hello!

I have searched alot and cant figure this out even after alot of research. The problem is like this. I have a house called A where the main router is situated. And there is also a house called B where i need to set up and access point wirelessly. There is also a house called C that also will have an access point wirlessly and there is also a house called D that need to connect to the internet wirelessly.

Now to the Problem, A and B is located around 100 meters from each other need to connect to one another. From the B spot i need to connect the D accesspoint wireless. And from the A (mainrouter) i want to connect to the C accesspoint also.

So the question is how i should set this up? Should i use WDS between A and C so the only talk to each other and a bridge between A and B and from B and D repeat the signal or a WDS again? Or should i go WDS all the way? Or only in repeater mode? I would like the SSID to be the same on the whole area and but the main thing is to get the best performance.

Well im confused, dont worry about the antennas i just want to figure out the set-up atm. I attach a picture so you can se how it looks!

Here is a link to the picture also.

I know it's not the answer you're looking for, but WDS or repeaters don't offer very good performance in my experience. It's a lot more work, but a box of cat5e is pretty cheap and would give you a truly reliable connection. In this setup, b, C, and d would all be APs and A would be the router. Since you choose the SSid, they can be the sam, regardless of how you set it up.

Okitpokit, I tend to agree with mwbuss8 that the most reliable and best performance is to run CAT5e/6 cables among the various houses. However, if wireless is the only viable solution to you, you should do some site survey first. Make sure you can actually receive any wifi signal from router A inside house B and C. If you can't receive a reasonable signal, there is no chance you can get a reasonable performance. It would be nice if you can relocate router A within house A so that you can get the best signal inside house B and C. Find the best spot in house B and C where you can get the best signal from router A and place the repeater routers on those spots. Do similar survey on house D. I think repeater mode is all you need for the routers in house B, C and D. Although I don't know why you want to keep the same SSID on all the routers, I think you will find it less troublesome if you use different SSIDs for all the routers.

If you can run CAT5e/6 cables from one house to another, you can take a look at this thread for some setup examples: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=282507 Please note however, 100 meters is the maximum length of the cables you can run as it is the limit for CAT5e/6 cable.
