Still on Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r30681 std (09/22/16)

Has anyone flashed to 11-14-2016-r30880 successfully? Thanks Smile

Has anyone had any luck installing a module to use dnsmasq_ipset on this router? I have been searching for days trying to find a way to do this once I saw the linked post below... Netflix has been a bear and I have to keep finding and adding full domains to keep it working with my VPN. I have thought about downgrading to 3.10 but that wipes out some of the partitions and I'm not even positive it will work on this router.

I would like to know as well. Thanks, happy holidays.

I tried flashing to 11-14-2016-r30880 on my v1 from factory today without success.

Fortunately, re-naming the 09/22/16 binary to archerc9_v1_recovery.bin and serving it via TFTP worked and now I'm running that build.

Hi All. Greetings! I am new to this forum. My Archer C9 hardware version is V.3, which is NOT yet on the supported device list (however V.1 and V.2 are supported). So does that mean waiting is the only option? Or there are some other ways around to allow some version of DD-WRT firmware to be flashed on it?

Many thanks in advance for any comments you may have.

I would just like to inform that I have been using 11-14-2016-r30880 for almost 2 weeks now. Everything works as expected, except for minidlna. Minidlna does work, but seems to overheat the router for some reason (somebody told me that it has to do with dd-wrt reindexing all my hdd files, but I am not sure).

Anyway, this build has been working rock-solid for me. And I even managed to get optware running from https://github.com/Optware/Optware-ng

Archer C9 V1.

I was on the very latest TPLink firmware as of a couple of days ago, downgraded to lowest TP firmware I could find (2015/5/7 (us) - I think)

Flash'd to dd-wrt 2016-05-10 no problems, yesterday went to the very latest dd-wrt 2016-11-14, again no problems.

Seems better then 5/10.

I am not using any advanced functions just the basics - all is well.
It did change my MAC address on the 11/14 flash. (so what?)
Both versions the LAN light does not light up.
Speeds/Range seem slightly better but that could be just me Wink

Now if I could only figure out how to get IPVanish working!!!

Thought I'd share to many Brick posts.

hey, thanks for posting. That's what I was looking to know.

But could you please tell me about the process?
Did you flash over ethernet or wifi? did you reset the router before or after flashing?

Thank you.

I did a 30/30/30 reset before flashing and I flashed over ethernet each time.

Thanks for the info, and I am using 2016-11-14 firmware for a few days with OpenVPN on and active BitTorrent sessions. 67 degree C at most.

Looks like a good build since the tried-and-true 2015-12-24 firmware.

Hello everyone,

I've got an Archer C9 v2.0 with dd-wrt flashed, however, I'd like to go back to stock, as I found WiFi to be a lot more reliable with it.

AFAIK flashing dd-wrt didn't change the MAC address, but I did notice that the last digit was different from the sticker when checking it on the dd-wrt web interface.

I've been searching for a tutorial on how to revert this router back to stock (I'm a noob), but I have not found any for the V2.0, so I need your help Smile

At the top of this forum there is a sticky that says files for reverting back to stock firmware.
Find your file in there and flash it.

@Malachi, C9 is not easy as flashing a file to revert to stock. You have to use serial cable. Edit: okok

I think the instructions and files needed are on this topic. Or probably here, can't recall:

I might be wrong, but the serial cable method is for completely bricked routers. My router is not bricked, I just want to go back to stock Smile Also, the TP-link partition hasn't been overwritten.

Thanks for your help!
