Hi all,

I need to deploy 8 wifis in our warehouse and I wanted to know which repeating mode is best as we need to extend the range so we can connect our scanners to uplink data to erp for inventory.

We will be using 10 scanners and routers are dual band 1Gb.

Thanks

I honestly believe that many unwired access points is asking for trouble, but WDS would be your best bet. Do note though that your wireless throughput will be a small fraction of what it'd be capable of with each AP wired, even if you do manage to maintain a stable connection.

If at all possible run a wire for each AP. You'll end up with a lot less headaches, and wire is pretty cheap.

If you are tryIng for extend ended range, you need to stick with 2.4 ghz. 5ghz has significantly less range.

Thank you very much for the quick replies gentleman.

After a few tests I now understand the WDS.

I will use wire as mentioned and only use one station to relay to other wired APs as shown in my attachment.

Please advise if you have any other suggestions.

BTW, if the ceiling in the warehouse is 25' what is the optimal height?

And in our office the ceilings are 8' what is the optimal height?

Thank you for your help.
