Hi all,

I got stuck, for days now, at the finish line.

Followed wiki tuturial on creating repeater bridge. Furthermore ibused the join button in site survey.

I am able to connect to both routers setting pages, but it seems phones and iPads never connect to the secondary router!

Connection gets bad internet starts to fall out when i walk some distance. In a monitor app i ser very low signal strengh in the ssid. BUT about full signal at the same spot in the virtual ssid!

So my 5 cents ... Devices are not connecting to the secondary router at all ?

Screenshot showing that R1, bakkevangen8, and R2 dd-wrt (virtual ssid) are not same signal strength.

IMO they should be? And my phone should pick the closest one.

The bakkevangen8 you see is from main router not the repeater.
if you cannot connect to the VAP with wireless devices then your repeater bridge is not working.

You should search 'Repeater Bridge' in broadcom forum or at least read ¬

See >>> 'Linking Routers'

Many builds of last several months will not do 'Repeater Bridge'
Some K2.6 builds of last few months will not do RB but the K3.x of same build will.
You can read 'New Build' threads in broadcom forum for more info.

These may help ¬

I can connect to both R1 and R2 webinterfaces, by being connected to R1.

But it seems that devices get increased signal strength when getting near R2 / on the other side of it. Though the virtual ssid shows great strength.

Why doesnt my devices pickup and connect to R2 when it is clearly better signal?

Thinking of making a connection with cable from R1 to R2 instead and trying to make a network with a new name/subnet to see how that goes.

There are apps for some devices that will force connection to strongest signal.
Google could help you with that. I have not used them
but have seen a few posts in dd-wrt forums about them.

Wired IS usually the better choice when it can be used Smile
