hmm...a router with one port? btw usb doenst count since its slow as hell on a rpi.

the only config is see is as an AP or bridge. but there are much more cheap devices to do that faster.
or as vpn server. but then u need more power imho.

You can run tagged vlan on the single ethernet port. There is a Openwrt firmware for it.

Still limited by the USB NIC. It is possible, but for the price you can get a better solution.

I was disapointed at the RPI2 did not get a Gigabit interface.

So why not hang a managed switch off it? I do that with my current DD-WRT router anyway Smile

I plan to replace my DD-WRT router with a SOHO Business dual WAN balanced VPN router and use DD-WRT as a WAN bridge AP.

Would be nice to have DD-WRT on DIY SoC embedded hardware. The prices of wifi home routers are ridiculous, may as well go Business routers at that price now. Sometimes they are cheaper, and more robust with more features (Dual WAN, VPN etc).

There is plenty of alternatives to the Raspberry Pi, for example Atom based SoC and other ARM based SoC that have better components.
