Have you tried to perform a hard reset on the router and setup manually from scratch ? Also, clearing the cache/settings in your SSH client software might help... since Dropbear SSH was updated http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/4784#comment:2

Here's the debug output, I think there's a problem with the handshake:

Code:
specimen:~ Specimen$ ssh -v root@192.168.2.1
OpenSSH_6.2p2, OSSLShim 0.9.8r 8 Dec 2011
debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh_config
debug1: /etc/ssh_config line 20: Applying options for *
debug1: /etc/ssh_config line 102: Applying options for *
debug1: Connecting to petinga [192.168.2.1] port 22.
debug1: Connection established.
debug1: identity file /Users/Specimen/.ssh/id_rsa type -1
debug1: identity file /Users/Specimen/.ssh/id_rsa-cert type -1
debug1: identity file /Users/Specimen/.ssh/id_dsa type -1
debug1: identity file /Users/Specimen/.ssh/id_dsa-cert type -1
debug1: Enabling compatibility mode for protocol 2.0
debug1: Local version string SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_6.2
debug1: Remote protocol version 2.0, remote software version dropbear_2015.68
debug1: no match: dropbear_2015.68
debug1: SSH2_MSG_KEXINIT sent
debug1: SSH2_MSG_KEXINIT received
debug1: kex: server->client aes128-ctr hmac-md5 none
debug1: kex: client->server aes128-ctr hmac-md5 none
debug1: sending SSH2_MSG_KEXDH_INIT
debug1: expecting SSH2_MSG_KEXDH_REPLY
Connection closed by 192.168.2.1

On a normal SSH connection, after "debug1: expecting SSH2_MSG_KEXDH_REPLY" we should get the host fingerprint (Server host key).

Reseting dd-wrt to factory defaults still results in the same handshake issue.

Haven't updated to 27600 yet. Will do later today and test SSH on my routers.

SSH seems to be also broken on some Atheros units: http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/4784#comment:4

@ervau
Did you test SSH ? I can't test it until later in the evening...

I'm heavily considering moving to OpenWRT, the development of DD-WRT seems chaotic, there are no stable releases, it's all hit or miss with each new release, they seem to accumulate bugs instead of solving them as tickets that represent real bugs are ignored.

For me: ap_client is broken, DDNS is broken, and now SSH
