It will happen more in the future, the special US header is very recently introduced.
Try this file for bringing back your new US version into good ol worldwide version, you can then if everything goes well continue with factory-to-ddwrt.bin. _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
Try this file for bringing back your new US version into good ol worldwide version, you can then if everything goes well continue with factory-to-ddwrt.bin.
I've modified the header of the DD-WRT 28072 factory-to-ddwrt build intended for the regular (worldwide) Archer C7 v2, so that it will flash on a US version Archer C7 v2 running stock TP-Link firmware.
If the attached build works for you, it can be further updated with any newer-than-28072 webflash build for the regular Archer C7 v2.
Disclaimer: I haven't tested the attached build myself, so I'm not responsible in any way if you brick your router.
Please only flash this build if you know how to unbrick it. _________________ THERE ARE NO STRANGERS HERE; ONLY FRIENDS YOU HAVEN'T YET MET.

LOM thank you very much!
I successfully rolled back to the worldwide firmware.
Also I flashed r28072 successfully!
KrypteX also thank you very much! I preferred to rollback instead of flashing from the US firmware, because I am not familiar with the unbricking procedure.
You had the same risk of bricking it also with LOM's modded firmware, except he didn't add a disclaimer to scare you !
We use similar methods to mod TP-Link firmwares. _________________ THERE ARE NO STRANGERS HERE; ONLY FRIENDS YOU HAVEN'T YET MET.

So I got my Archer C7 v2 today and fell into that same locality trap (in this case because it's a new v2 from inside the US). I honestly spent a good 10 hours today just reading about router firmwares and tftp, only to have KrypteX solve the problem for me two months ago, lol. Thanks very much; I'm new here, but I've seen the work youve done quite a bit today, lurking all over this forum.
This cost me a lot of time and frustration but I think I got a solid method for the US ac1750 archer that I purchased last week on amazon. This method worked for me hopefully it works for you. You can use any tftp server I just chose to use the one built into os x.
Copy it to your tftp root !Must be name ArcherC7v2_tp_recovery.bin!
cp ArcherC7v2_en_3_14_2_up_boot\(150304\).bin /private/tftpboot/ArcherC7v2_tp_recovery.bin
reboot and hold down the reset. you can watch it tftp in wireshark
@KrypteX, I recently purchased an archer c7 v2 in the states but brought it to ARgentina, if I were to flash dd-wrt, should I use factory-to-ddwrt-US.bin?
Would that remove any limitation?
Also what are the tplink_archer_v2-*.bin files for? Are those stock firmwares?
Do you know if the US hardware is the same as any other?
