DD-WRT v3.0-r31277 std (02/07/17) works on my router fine as well. However my Lumia 435 which is supposed to communicate with pure wireless N, cannot link (iphone and hp laptop do work). With mixed mode g/n it works for the Lumia as well. Pretty stable and - opposed to the stock firmware - g/n is possible now.
Edit: I could reduce tx-power to 5db without any problems (distance to the router about 5 meters including one wall) nor speed limitations.

Hi guys
this is my first attempt to convert a router from the std o/s to DD-WRT, I have the TP-Link TL-WR841N ver11
when I try the s/w upgrade for the factory-t-ddwrt.bin I get the error 18005, upgrade unsuccessful because the version of the upgrade file was incoprect.
The router says that it is a WR841B v11....??????and ideas as to why this is occuring.
saw the previous post with the work around an wondered why?
What s/w should be run next.
cheers

well it does help if you know what you are doing .

the process that I used is....

used the file in the link
https://forum.openwrt.orgviewtopic.php?pid=338779#p338779
to downgrade the TP-LINK software to version/release from 3.16.9 build 160325 rel 62500n ver11, so that I could then use the files in the following link to install DD-WRT841 ver 11

https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?pid=338779#p338779

so far all working OK now....I think

Hello, I am new here and by the last reply here, able to upgrade. Just letting you know what I did, it may help others.

1. I was using the latest version TPlink v11.

2. First use this file - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5038754/wr841n%28EU%29_v11_150616.bin

3. Then again, this file - http://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2016/01-02-2016-r28647/tplink_tl-wr841ndv10/tl-wr841nd-webflash.bin

Its working.

Hello! Could anyone modify the 27506 version for the 841ndv11? I've tried several versions and no one seems to be stable with 30 connected clients. Thank you!

Read thru the 841 threads and even this thread and you will find r27506 highly touted as one of the most stable for this model, matter of fact I used it myself on my ver.11 for a long time. 30 clients is a lot for a punie little single core, single band 841 not saying it won`t do it but with 30 clients maybe you need an upgrade.

Ramblin, thanks for your responsive reply! I have an 841n v10 that can handle 50 to 60 clients with version 27506, so I think you refuse and pretty much all of the software. But thanks for the tip, thanks!

Fab, Ver 9, 10 and 11 are exact same hardware. 50 clients, I`m pretty impressed. I do real good with the 841s myself.

Ramblin, the 841n v11 processor is a "Qualcomm Atheros QCA9533 see 2 rev 1.0 (0x0160)" and the v9 or v10 Atheros AR9341 see 1 rev 1.3 (0x0123), so I can not load 27506, I need a modified version for v11.

One note, the 841 is connected in bridge mode and there is another router to manage the 50 clients (dhcp).

I don`t get that. Our wiki says they are the same.

I have (3) ver.9 on WDS currently on r31690. Tried my ver.11 with a 9 a while back and it worked fine together. Tried my ver.7 and it will not work on WDS with a ver.9.

Can anyone re-up the modified 150616 TP-Link FW. I tried the guide to mod it myself but can't figure out how to re calculate the checksum

Thanks

Hi - I flashed 4 of these v11 units a few months ago, and one of the disappointing things I discovered was that there was no Repeater or Repeater Bridge option, which is 75% of what I would have likely used them for if I could.

Can anyone tell me if that has changed with newer DD-WRT FW, and if not, what the likelihood of ever seeing this as an option if I'm just patient and wait?

Thanks in advance for any advice and info....
