I upgraded to this version today and it broke the WAN connection. It would not get the IP from my cable modem.

I tried rebooting the pc that runs this. I even tried releasing and renew the lease for the WAN connection.

I had to revert back to r27805 which works fine.

After installing x86 r27858 the Activation link appeared on the main page, and I had no internet connection (As is usual when dd-wrt thinks it is not activated). I tried to reactivate, but the code supplied by my router was not accepted on the dd-wrt.com activation site.

I was however, able to downgrade to the previous version (r27805) without issue.

Good that means I did nothing wrong if you have the paid version with the same issue.

This happened on the public 32bit version.

The WAN is still broken in this release. The issue first showed up on release r27858 still present on r27944

I have also confirmed that r27944 has the WAN disabled even after successfully activating with a new license from the personal activation store. If there is anything that I should try to diagnose let me know but I will be reverting back to r27805 in the mean time.

I just noticed after attempting to activate r27944 on the ddwrt.Com activation page, that when I attempted to activate r27944 there now is another entry in my activation history that has my previous LAN MAC address instead of my WAN MAC address as the routers address. I don't know if that has anything to do with the WAN being disabled issue on builds after r27805? It seems as though it is finding the LAN adapter first this time instead of the WAN adapter. I will try to completely reload the router using the disk images and see if that helps. Right now, I have no Internet connectivity with either after r27805 or r27805 so if there is any way to bump this up in priority it would be appreciated.

After researching the fact that my activation on dd-wrt.com was saying that I suddenly had a different MAC address, I believe I found the culprit, but I do not know what caused it... Ever since I started using x86 DD-WRT I have had the onboard 10/100 NIC disabled and used two Gigabit NICs for WAN and LAN... For some strange reason, I found that my internal onboard NIC was enabled!!! I know I did not do that because I remember reading that if the NICs change then the activation probably will not work... I disabled the onboard NIC and now, so far everything seems to be working fine. I am now activated on r27944. I would apologize, but I do not know what caused this to happen???
I can only assume that because the internal NIC was enabled, that the router took that as the WAN NIC, which was never connected to anything. I don't know but it might have even worked if I had that interface connected to the WAN, but I never use that NIC and did not have anything plugged into it. If I did use it as the WAN interface, then it might have worked, but my whole plan when I built this system was not to use it and use the Gigabit NICs instead.
Anyway, for future reference, if your having trouble with the WAN interface, and/or having trouble activating, always make sure your NICs have not changed!!!

Router Model: Netgear WNDR3400 AND Netgear WNDR4500
Status: NO
Reset: 30-30-30
Errors: YES

Wireless is visible but unable to connect. All attempts say wireless keys don't match. Mint, iPhone 5 5c 5s, Win10(64), Win7(64).

Could not establish EoIP connection between the routers.

IPv6 would not establish connection to clients behind router. Could ping6 WAN interface.

Reverted to Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r27858 mega (09/28/15)

Since r27858 the WAN ip is always 0.0.0.0 when DHCP is on automatic.

I tried setting it to static IP and copied what the older versions get for the IP and subnet Mask and DNS servers. Damned thing does not work.

The card seems active due to the lights being on and indicating a connection.

I finally got this one working.

I found out the WAN card I had been using was reassigned to LAN after release r27858. I had to change the setting to pick the right card for WAN.

I do not know why it was changed but it really pissed me off that it was still not working after 5+ releases and the fix for it was simple..
