Router: Asus-rt-n10plus C1
Status: bricked

Webflash from r28444 - bricked.
After Asus recovery and factory-to-ddwrt (r28493) = bricked
After Asus recovery and factory-to-ddwrt (r28444) = OK

Later will try 30-30-30 and/or telnet upgrade

Hmm, very strange.
28444 has webflash code broken (for Broadcom at least): http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/4988#comment:13

Try this: put 28417 on it. Then run erase nvram from SSH or Telnet and reboot. Then webflash to 28493.

Idk if is just me but i noticed a general WAN speed drop since the last few versions i ll go back to 28320 just to check if so, or it may be my ISP Smile

just tested it, with my other router with the stock settings same speed so its the ISP not the Firmware

well device DIR-615 h2 with 28493 didn't last for long device bricked and goes to endless reboot I'm able to access emergency room but even then after upload it goes to the same loop reboot any ideas how to .. i already tried few different versions and even the stock DD-WRT and still the same, shall i try to upload the stock d-link DIR-615 firmware ??

Well i managed to restore to factory dd-wrt and then to 28320 and there with all the resets 30/30/30 i went to 28493 and the unit was operational for few min and the went back to loop reboot Smile i'm battling with it now i guess i have to try "erase nvram" command using putty if nothing works well i ll try to revert to the stock firmware D-link....

so far somehow i managed to upload the stock D-link firmware then did 30/30/30/ reset and moved to factory dd-wrt 28320 all working now the question is did a managed to reset the "nvram" with all that effort.. do i have to do erase ram procedure via telnet or ssh Smile or go further and try 28493 again Smile or the last working 28444 ???

28444 running now i ll keep it for a while and will try 28493 or the next FW

I do accept any ideas about "nvram" approach to reset Smile

finally i did telnet nvram reset and moved from 28444 to 28493 and then reset, carefully rebuilt all settings from scratch will see how it goes ! It seems this device DIR-615 h2 goes to emergency room prior to reset so i guess the best reset will be via Telnet or ssh

so i was fiddling with this settings "no DNS rebind" and clearly its not operational on both selections i can see my web interface at my ISP address and clearly this option is not working or it might be working but i dont know how much is working Smile
i decided to give a go to of that and its working:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=288029

i ve no idea if this interferes with something else as a settings, but so far so good 28493 is operational ...

Router: Asus RT-N10+ B1
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r28493

Webflash from r27506 - bricked.

Webflash from r27506 - bricked.

Edit: RAM usage under r27506 is at 91%, 30MB out of 32MB. Unless I'm reading it wrong: "Total Available 91% 29824 kB / 32768 kB"

Saw that and ran "erase nvram" before I webflashed my n10plus the second time. Incredibly my configuration data, network settings, and all of my bandwidth usage data survived the whole process.

Edit: I've got bandwith usage data going all the way back to the point I webflashed from 18777 to 27506 in August.

very very odd it seems this 28493 has some issues, first my problems in the beginning then after few days of abuse and normal use my network falls apart i cant use it normally my main router drops WI-FI and reconnects all the devices every 2-3 min, restarted router keeps stable for few min and then starts again with the wi-fi drops and reconnects, i ll try erase ram later if that keeps going i will revert to some old FW the last issue with 28493 was after few days of use my router went to restart loop mode Sad

Alozaros, you're using QoS on DIR-615h.. maybe you're running into these issues: http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/5024 and http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/5023

nope Im not using it !!

As i said its odd its odd Razz Smile

No I'm not using QoS now, the 28493 seems ok from the start with clear nvram, then it works few days and first jam was after few days i woke up and the router was in reboot loop, then after erase ram upload old 28320 and then revert back to stock D-link and moved to 28444 and then back to 28493, erase nvram was used (both) all the times.Today second jam, woke up and WI-FI+ LAN was in reconnect loop and I have a static address for most of the devices I use, then erase nvram and uploaded the first good working settings for 28943 (build from the scratch), and it seemed to work and then started again, i was just about to log in to putty and re do it again and it stopped..... now all fine Smile will see for how long Smile Smile I'm not in congested WI-FI zone and everything was working for 2-3 days I've noticed that even if i do nothing with with the settings the NVRAM size rises from 17kb to 20kb ish and then the fun starts once its goes up to 21-22kb and i have the rest to 64k free Smile will see how it goes.

Recently I ve found on the street an old TP-Link router with Gargoyle OS and it ok and its part of the system just for testing purposes but by any chance could that be the reason for that Smile I have a various routers connected together and so far its never been and issue ??

finally after a log battle i managed to upload 28444 its a bit of a struggle going trough all upload and FW realises, until i got to 28444, it seems with emergency room something happens and it does not fully update and restarts around 50 % an then the router is not operational or in restart loop... even with working D link or ddwrt firmware breaks down and gets buggy, sadly i only use web update couse when the router is buggy there is no Telnet Sad i did manage to clear the nvram and somehow 28139 > 28444
