Hello,

I am having trouble connecting to a VPN with my Netgear R7000. There were several power failures last night and the router was not behaving correctly today. After changing the IP's and ports of the VPN several times I noticed the same error every time: N VERIFY ERROR: depth=1 error=certificate is not yet valid. The OpenVPN status was stuck in a loop between WAIT & RECONNECTING tls-error.

The NTP was set to nist before and it never had any problems. I tried the SSH commands in the forum (ntpclient, stopservice, startservice) without any luck. Basically, the time restarts every time the router is booted, and changing the time zone mereley changes the hour, the minutes remain tied to the uptime, and looks like this:

*I noticed a new version and upgraded, but the problem persisted regardless of DD-WRT version.

Found an external blog suggesting using the "date" command, so I did, date 1604240633, and it all seems to be working now. Certs recognized and VPN connected. Embarassed

Prior to using the "date" command I tried to use the IP of the nist servers, but still nothing. I do not think it was the lookup of the ntpclient failing.

For what it's worth, I rebooted the router afterwards and it went back to the default date and I had to run the date command again. It has not failed for the past two days.
