How about this;

Simply press reset then power on keep it pressed for about 10s and the power light will blink which means tftpd is waiting for the client to send the new firmware.
Then tftp the firmware you want.Post your result.

i dont know what it wont work for me.. so i just used the manual one and it worked.
im now back to the factory firmware settings
tftp -i 192.168.1.1 PUT code.bin code.bin

thanks...

i really dont know why i have issues with the ddwrt in r7500v2

i am using it as an AP.. i have 360 Mbps download. and when i use DDWRT it goes to like 150-170Mbps in AC 5ghz with vt80

And you did the download speed test with a wired computer, wireless is nonsense, as most people do not even know if their client device supports VHT80, setting VHT80 on the router does not add VHT80 support to your device.

Speedtest with wired router to computer is the benchmark, but I want to know what the speed of wireless on the router and more important the speed on wireless of the repeater.
Using a dell laptop with intel ac adapter,my speed in almost the same either wired or wireless on the r7500v2 using netgear firmware.
Using Kong r31120 on a second r7500v2, configured as a repeater, the speed is almost as good as wired from the router. The answer is using the 2 radios 2.4 and 5 ghz as backhaul and data connection so no loss due to data and wireless connection using the same band or radio. So when I connect my dell to ac 5ghz radio, the repeater is using 2.4ghz band to connect to the main router. In other words, this is the poor man's mesh system if you have 2 of the same routers, i.e 2X r7500v2.

Have you tried setting the bridge as WDS and using other radio for clients? I would assume that would be good as it gets bridging + other wireless clients using only two routers.

That's what essentially what was done. Neither netgear nor ddwrt have the repeater bridge function. They have a bridge mode and an AP mode.

Ok I bit the bullet and bought the R7500 from amazon for 149.99
It is probably more than I need but, there it is. I won't have it for a about a week as they're not in stock.

so, I'll check back in when it arrives.

repeater bridge in ddwrt for qualcomm is wds ap <-> wds station. (client bridge is a fake bridge with problems for most)

I get faster speeds, thus probably setup error, but I have no glass bowl.

what are u using? ethernet? wireless? if wireless is is 802.11n? 802.11ac? if ac is is vht20/40/80? ipq8064 is capable of more than that speed even with qos on. so somethings wrong there...

I've got the latest Kong running on my r7500v2. Everything seems fine except when I run an IPv6 test it says no IPv6 address.
My client reports an IPv6 address, the router in the upper right shows an IPv6 address though.

I didn't check on stock.

Since wireless can be tricky, you really need to experiment with different settings and see what you can get. Dont forget that your wireless card has a lot to do with the bigger picture, so explore the advanced driver settings -

http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles-tutorials/wireless-networking/advanced-wireless-adapter-driver-settings.html

Also would recommend playing with the channels, maybe you have interference on the channel you are currently using? Its plausible the stock firmware was on a different channel.

But, really, you need to get to know your hardware and the options. No one can click buttons for you, so your going to have to click buttons for yourself!

IPv6 does not work on oem latest firmware 1.0.3.4. I already brought up the issue with netgear and they verified it and will release a new firmware, next month I was told. But I believe it when I see it.

But I'm on kongs latest.
Right now I put in my wrt1900ac with kongs latest and using the same settings, IPv6 works.
