For development of a build specifically for this device, DD-WRT team needs one in hands, so what's better ?

Hello everyone,
Thanks for this firmware. But still stock and dd-wrt firmwares are unstable for me.
I have one router by my neighbors and cannot adjust their router and signal is bad, except one room. I bought this repeater but there is a lot of freezes, as if router is stuck due to an error.
For example:
Started ping to main router and started browsing the web and sometimes pages are not loading for 5-15 secs each 1 min. Also repeater answers that host is unreachable.
Same thing here: upgraded (apparently without issues) to R34080.
Testing since few days the latest R34311 released on 12/29/17 with no issue so far.
However, wondering what is the difference versus previous version. Is there any change log available?

I have the WA854RE Rev. V1.2 [US]. Was fed up with the stock firmware not working. I figured I'd give this build a shot even though its V1.2 not V1 thinking i had nothing to lose since I wasn't using it anyway.
After uploading DD-WRT v3.0-r28647 (from KrypteX's post), the unit returned to having a power light, but then no activity for about 10 minutes, did not see the DD-WRT wifi SSID appear. gave up, thought i bricked the unit. After unplugging and plugging it back in, still didnt see the activity lights kick in.
After a break for dinner I pulled up my list of available networks, saw the ddwrt SSID, logged in, and sure enough its working! I set it in bridge repeater mode, and have a working network connection. Although the wifi strength LEDs dont function.
I havent tried updating to build 31791. Not sure if I should press my luck a second time. Anyone else experiment with V1.2 or know what the differences are with the revisions?

Just upgraded to the latest version (r35244); seems to be fine.
@VSparxx please PLEASE !! in your entry posting under "HOW TO:", put the the entire "Setup DD-WRT Qualcomm Atheros repeater bridge" line in brackets, move it UNDER Client mode setup, and add a bold "RECOMMENDED" before "Client mode setup". How you have had it set up, you cause people waist a lot of time because needless to say everybody clicks on the first link first ....

Thanks a lot.
Done, i updated the post so i point the people in the right direction straight away, thanks for your good point.
Also to be fair i haven't logged in to the forums in a while as i've not had the necessity, the repeater still rocks on one of the older firmwares, works with no issues whatsoever for more than a year, haven't had to reboot it or anything.
Glad to hear this repeater has been working so nicely for you.
Which firmware have you been running on it, and which wifi security settings? WPA2 Personal AES, or something different? I'd like to set up my repeater (+ router consecutively) as you did for best performance.

Well, it's basically you set it up as a client to connect to the router, then set up your own VAP with WPA2/AES.
It's running on the firmware i recommended in #0 as that's the latest one i have tested on it.

Thank you VSparxx.
Is anybody successfully using Radio Time Restrictions / Radio Scheduling with this router, verified that it's really completely switching off the wireless during the times marked as red?
If so, with which firmware version, and with which Wireless Network Mode (Mixed/ BG-Mixed etc.)?

I did use the Radio scheduling for a while ( a couple days really ) and it did work as intended, the Wireless is completely switching off during the set times, the Network mode shouldn't be an issue as it will work with whatever wireless settings you need.
with the 31791 firmware you mention in your first posting, or with a different one? Because with the 31791, I don't even an option for radio scheduling under Wireless/ (Physical Interface ath0 [2.4 GHz]/) Advanced Settings
I only found this settting with the 2018-05-03-r35244 firmware, but it only switches off the physical interface = wifi to the router, NOT the repeather wifi signal
I can still connect, log in, and see ath0 radio off, but needless to say I want wifi completely off.
Would be great if you could check if you do have the option for radio scheduling, and which fw that is on your WA854RE

Sorry i can't remember now details as i've not looked at that repeater for at least 1 year, also can't check as we're currently in different countries
But i guess try it and see for yourself, just remember to export a working configuration backup prior just in case you'll need to reset the repeater and not spend a lot of time on reconfiguration.
