My primary router is R6300V2 running on DD-WRT v24-sp2 (02/04/15) std - build 26138.
Trying to setup wireless extender as a bridge. Using Edimax ew-7288apc (http://www.edimax.com/edimax/merchandise/merchandise_detail/data/edimax/us/home_access_points_ac450/ew-7288apc/).
The problem I am facing is that extender during setup returns me an error stating that cannot obtain IP from the router.
Other devices get connected with no issues.
Tried disabling wifi password, disabled DNSMasq.
Initially thought I had a defective extender, but after replacing it, still getting the same error. So I am suspecting that theres something with my primary router.
All I see on the primary router, while trying to configure I see that IP gets assigned (have static IP configured) but extender does not stay as active client for more than a second.
Any advice? Thnx

just spent over an hour with edimax us support. theyre running a small shop in here, I believe only two people are there. Anyway, couldn't figure out what's going on.
The only suggestion they had it was to go back from ddwrt to an original firmware on my netgear.
Somehow I suspect it might be due not enough time edimax is spending while running connection before erroring out. Meaning does not get an IP assigned fast enough. Is that something I can address on the router side?
Open to any other suggestions.
