netflix proxy problem

i got us ip from cablevision (no vpn/smart dns in use) and ddwrt(Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/23/15) kongac) on netgear r7000 no modification no changes after first installation. netflix worked correctly for years. but recently i go msg from netflix that am using proxy. been reading on forum that i have to allowed google dns to pass through but dont know how to do this. need some help to get netflix back. here is the error msg.

what about just setting your router and compputers to use your ISP's dns? which is to do nothing but leave everything on default settings (=dhcp). I also got that message either a week or 2 ago but i was on a vpn at the time.

Netflix is blocking people using vpns. Haven't you heard the news?

@maser checking my dns field looks like is blank and ip comes from dhcp


@malachi i dont use any type of vpn only pure cablevision ip and dd wrt with no tweaks after installation

I got exactly the same message & I'm using a VPN connection. Any idea how I can overcome this?

just for test i flashed my router with stock netgear firmware no change still got same msg. (i dont think is ddwrt problem) so tomorrow its time to call netflix and cablevision to see what they have to say.

eibgrad if you want to post some instruction for temp fix please do

Private ip is addresses starting with 10.0.0.0, 172.16-32.0.0 and 192.168.0.0

That is probably the lan address. Not the wan address that where asked about.

Probably not, the IP adres of your WAN port can be found on the STATUS/WAN tab of the WebGui.
This address leads to your router not your cable modem

Cable modem address can often be found by running the Tracert command via the command prompt which gives you a start address for port scanning.

i still dont understand what am doing?

i found wan ip and yes it opens my router page
