Posted: Wed Mar 02, 2016 13:24 Post subject: RT-N16 Multiple WLAN Not Broadcasting SSID with Security
Running RT-N16 with build 26138 mini.
From a default , I add two virtual interfaces to the physical interface. All are bridged, no AP isolation, and SSID broadcast is enabled. At this point all three SSID are visable in devices.
If I enable WPA2 Personal on the physical interface and no security on both virtual interfaces, all three interfaces are visable to devices.
If I enable WPA2 Personal on the physical interface and either of the virtual interfaces , then the physical interface is viable, but any virtual interface with security is not visable.
I did find posts about this in much older firmware. What can I do to fix or is there a known better firmware?
I cannot load the Mega 3.X version 29193 or 29147. I have tried the last two builds and both brick the unit. Loaded firmware and did a 30-30-30 reset but unit just wont wake up. I have to do a recovery of firmware.
The 29193 version has the same bug. If you turn on WPA2 on multiple interfaces, the only one that will broadcast the SSID is the first one ascending up the physical then to virtual wireless interfaces.
I was trying 26138 as it is the best build mentioned in the Peacock thread.
I rolled back to 14896 mini and everything is working fine.
