So I have a set of EAP-9550s that were given to me..and I decided to play with them.

I have figured out that you need to open them up and flash them via serial, then you can web flash.


The funny thing is after getting the unit flashed to dd-wrt. I've not found any builds where the Ethernet port actually works. I can still get into the configuration UI and ping it over the default dd-wrt wireless network....but there's absolutely no response from the Ethernet port.


Any ideas?

I've tried builds 22118, 24461, 26653, 27506, 27805, 28493, and the one in the router database. I also noticed the 27+ builds all actually give me a mac address on the status screens....but still no response from the Ethernet side.

Also what's amusing is I do have one unit where I paid for the license...and that didn't resolve it....but if I have the serial plugged in...I can still reboot via telnet and flash over the Ethernet....just won't actually run dd-wrt with the Ethernet port.

Have you tried latest build ? ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2016/03-07-2016-r29218/

unfortunately, that the march 7th build still doesn't work correctly either.
