Thank you for the information, is there a RSS feed or notification I can sign up to when a full version is released?

Also I currently have OpenWRT installed on the device, can I flash directly from that or am I better off reverting to Factory settings?

Hello,

I updated my tp-link 810N v1 router with DD-WRT firmware (ver 29739).

Could you please help me to find the information how can I set up this router in hotspot (wisp) mode: connect to the wifi hotspot network and create another wifi network to share the internet. Is it possible with this firmware to do it?

Thank you!

UPD: I have found the solution! Thank you guys for the firmware and thank you for doing such job!

Only 8MB build, since it's taken from an 8MB flash router. It includes OpenVPN.[/quote]

Just installed it directly from OpenWRT and it flashed well and is now working brilliantly!

I am now on the services > VPN tab and only PPTP server and client mode are options, no evidence of OpenVPN!? What am I missing?

@KrypteX Thanks so much for the firmware build. I was able to successfully flash my TP-TL-WR810N v1 to. DD-WRT v3.0-r31722 std (03/21/17) First I used the US build supplied here, then upgraded to http://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2017/03-21-2017-r31722/tplink_tl-wr841ndv11/tl-wr841nd-webflash-US.bin

Seriously - KrypteX - thanks. I know others have posted requests for OpenVPN. My request is for snmp. I don't know the details of DD-WRT. Is it possible to do something like apt-get/yum install snmpd from SSH? or after installing this firmware can it be upgraded to something another version with additional features? I'm happy to be running DD-WRT w/o issues, but would love to learn more about how to add a few more features.

I've modified the header of the DD-WRT 29739 factory-to-ddwrt build intended for TL-WR841ND v11, so it will flash on a TL-WR810N v1 running stock TP-Link firmware.
If the attached build works for you, it can be further updated with any newer-than-29739 webflash build for TL-WR841ND v11.

Disclaimer: I haven't tested the attached builds myself, so I'm not responsible in any way if you brick your router.
Please only flash this build if you know how to unbrick it.

Note: You must be logged in to be able to download the attachment.

I successfully installed this via webflash to my WR810n but i don't have openVPN client options. any suggestion?
thanks
doug

ADD: I'm guessing that any image that is less than 4mb will NOT contain openVPN. Hopefully someone will be able to do a full version (including openVPN) dd-wrt. tnx

I'm still holding my breath for a version that contains more VPN client options, does anyone know of a method to install these things manually?

Just for clarification, I can confirm that I am using this build and it does NOT include openVPN client or server.

I am nevertheless grateful to KrypteX for what he has done so far!

EDIT: Am I being dumb here, now I have DD-WRT running, can I just upgrade to a newer, and more complete build that includes more VPN clients?

Hey guys,

I flashed to dd-wrt after reading the wiki, but now my device isn't working.

The DHCP server is running, assigns me an ip, and a ping request gives:

Quote:
Ping has started…

PING 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=0.452 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.600 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.467 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=0.498 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=0.577 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=5 ttl=64 time=0.557 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=6 ttl=64 time=0.552 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=7 ttl=64 time=0.600 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=8 ttl=64 time=0.636 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=9 ttl=64 time=0.511 ms

--- 192.168.1.1 ping statistics ---
10 packets transmitted, 10 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 0.452/0.545/0.636/0.058 ms

So the firmware is there. However I'm not able to access the gui.

I've tried on multiple machines with multiple browsers. Tried a 30/30/30 reset. But I really don't know what to do from here.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I've posted some technical data on v2 of the TL-WR810N (US) to: https://forum.lede-project.org/t/support-for-tl-wr810n-v2/4338

Any chance someone can modify the header of a DD-WRT factory-to-ddwrt build to work with v2? Thanks!

As I can see in the ftp (ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017), there are releases for TL-WR810N V1 and V2 since build r33986 (12-04-2017), so I think this router is officially supported!

Supported Devices Page needs to be updated with this info.

I've just ordered a V2 from Amazon and plan to use as a repeater, waiting for it.

Has anyone tried some of the two available builds by the date (r33986 or r34080)?

V2 arrived from Amazon and installed r34080 on it.

Using as repeater (Client + VAP) and seems everything is working OK.

Only issues detected:
- LED always off (not working).
- Web GUI shows USB Tab even when V2 has not USB port.
