Configuration:
Netgear WNDR3700V2
Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/05/15) std - build 26446
Setup: Using WNDR3700V2 as a PPTP gateway for internal network access by laptops, tablets, smartphones
Issue: VPN will work just fine for several days then stop working.
My notes:
1) No IP change from Cox Cable
2) No reboot of router
3) Same devices and login that had worked fine don't work later
4) In my troubleshooting I notice that if I go into PPTP setup and change the IP address for DNS1 and "Apply Settings" it starts working. An example is using 8.8.8.8 as DNS1 works just fine then stops working. I go in and change to 8.8.8.4 and it works fine. Then I can go back in and change DNS1 back to 8.8.8.8 and it works fine only a few minutes later. No reboots, just "Apply Settings".
Me thinks it is possessed.

I'd appreciate getting some help to get this more reliable. |
