Hello fellow DD-WRT people,

as I struggled quite a while with this, I just thought I ask.
Currently I used a DLan ( so Lan over power-lines ) to supply my roof with an Ethernet connection. As this connection is awfully slow ( max 6 mb/s ) I was on the lookout for a wireless bridge and finally (thought so ) found a solution in DD-WRT ( bought a cheap TP WR841N for this ).

For the current network environment:

Living Room:
Internet Connection Socket
Primary Router ( PR from now on ), DHCP - 192.168.188.1
TV Network - getting IP from PR
Audio-Station - getting IP via DHCP from PR

Roof:
My Workstation - Currently connected via DLAN ( DHCP from primary router )
NAS - static IP 192.168.188.200 - Gateway/DNS: PR

So, I followed the DD-WRT installation, ripped out the DLAN adapters, plugged my workstation, NAS and a - not so important - Printer into the ethernet sockets of the new TP-Link Router with DD-WRT on it, and tried to configure Wireless Bridge Mode.

My Problem:
Whatever I do, I cant reach my NAS from my PC.
(or if I setup the static IP-Adress to match the DD-WRT subnet, eg 192.168.189.x, I cant see my files on my TV/Music Station...)

The IP-Adress should remain static for the NAS.
Funny thing is, I can reach the NAS from my living room, even though it is connected via the wireless bridge via the static IP-Adress - but not from my workstation.
I stronlgy believe, this is due the fact, that the TP-Link sees IP-Adress Request from my PC, and can't route it correctly, passes it to the PR and ... end.

I already saw http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=303943 and spend quite some time fiddling with names I thought fitting ( static routing ), but as I am no hardcore network specialist, I thought I ask around here.

My Configurations tried till now on my Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r28417 (12/03/15)
Configuration 1
DD-WRT supplying own DHCP: 192.168.189.1
Wireless Mode: Client
Firewall/Filter in DD-WRT: off
NAS static IP: 192.168.188.200, can reach Internet via Ethernet Port 1 -> Wireless Bridge .
But can't be reached from Ethernet Port 2 ( my workstation ) receiving IP via DHPC from DD-WRT.

Configuration 2
DD-WRT - no own DHPC
Wireless Mode: Client Bridge ( Routed )
NAS: static IP still
Workstation: getting IP adress via PR ( 192.168.188.x )

Can't reach NAS from PC.

Currently I plugged in the DLAN into the NAS and the socket next to the PR ( now my workstation can reach the NAS )

How can I configure my DD-WRT Router, that I can plugin my NAS into the DD-WRT, so my connection in the roof uses the fast ethernet socket, and still can be reached in the living room tv/audio station?

A static route/ a dynamic route?
Kind Regards
Naj

If you are looking for a perfect bridge, use WDS.
Read this wiki article: https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.pbp/WDS_Linked_router_network

Use either just Atheros or just Broadcom routers running DD-WRT, preferably the same build.

If you do want to use Client bridge, set up a DHCP forwarder on the client bridge, turn off the firewall on it as well. Enable UPNP on both the client bridge and the primary.

Is the Operating Mode of your dd-wrt router Gateway or Router?
