Router Model Linksys E1700 / N300
Firmware Version DD-WRT v24-sp2 (01/04/15) - build 25760

I've run into some really bizarre behavior here. A rough network diagram and ping behavior are attached below. The ping is to the default gateway.

So the router seems to only be able to ping servers on this side of the fiber linkage, or the default gateway, but not both at the same time. Or it just regularly forgets how to connect to the default gateway, I'm not sure.

I've had routing, dchp, and the firewall disabled. The WAN port isn't connected to anything, but has both been included and not included on the switch.

When operating in a default mode with WAN port used, the pings work fine. (So I do not think it is an issue with wiring or intermediary devices) However once I configure it into a wireless AP only, the behavior emerges again.

I've tried assigning static nats for the default gateway and target server. I've tried bridged and unbridged mode. Ive tried ap isolation.

I'm not entirely sure whats going wrong here, and Ive started to exhaust the last of my ideas.

Anyone have any crazy theories? Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks for reading. -S

Does this setup work ok if laptop is plugged directly 'in-place-of' the E1700 AP ¿
If laptop works fine in its place then post some screenshots of E1700 setup pages --
setup/basic setup | setup/advanced routing | wireless/bacic wireless
and/or read - http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Access_Point

Edit
oh''' hmm... the E1700 is MediaTek
you may need to ask about it over here >>>> http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=50

Thank you for the reply.

I didn't realize linksys was using different chip manufacturers, sorry about the wrong forum post.

When a laptop is plugged into the cable instead of the dd-wrt device, everything works fine.

I had done everything in the guide, but not in that exact order.

I performed a 30-30-30 and followed the guide step-by-step, but still experiencing this issue.

Thank you for your help. Im going to go repost this under the proper chipset forum.

Might try 25947
ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/01-20-2015-r25974/linksys_e1700/
It was a decent build...

You should PM one of the MODs and ask them to move this entire thread.
Not sure if it will help cause most long timers browse everything anyways.

If no one else gives pointers --
Reset ... Install 25974 - reconfigure.
If don't work then post pics of your settings
