So I just bought a WRT1900AC V2 and flashed DD-WRT and just like my last router i love it, i was doing some looking on the DD-WRT Wiki for some further information and found an entry in the Linksys section of the supported devices for WRT3200ACM but cant find any useful info about it anywhere else

there is development in progres on a WRT3200ACM which is a 1.83 ghz clocked variant of the WRT1900AC v2, but with a new wave-2 capable chipset (vht160 etc.)
so far everything but wireless works since we are still missing any driver files. the product does not seem to be on the market yet.

Noticed on svn that the 88W8964 firmware got added today. Does this mean BS got the mwlwifi driver or is that still pending.

Also, does this mean that we may have open source support when it officially launches?

Edit-- So after looking up the 88W8964, on wikidevi, I am more confused...

According to them, the entire WRT1x00 series all use the same wifi chip. Are these just different revisions, or are they like Intel with just say disabling features on the lower end processors?

*Nevermind, I was in front of my computer too long, my eyes were failing me, and sometimes I get a little overexcited Shocked

So, the WRT3200ACM (Rango) is going to also be a Bluetooth router?

the wrt series uses 88w8864, but the new wrt3200 has a 88w8964 which is a vht160 supporting wave 2 chipset. it also has a third sdio chipset for bluetooth and wifi. i can't talk about he purpose right now since i dont know if belkin/linksys is concerned about any details yet.
and yes there will be opensource firmware support straight from product launch. thats the plan. right now the 88w8964 support is not finished by marvell. i have a prerelease driver pqtch which works in 2.4 ghz, but fails in 5 ghz

Thank you BrainSlayer, that is great news! I figured out the chipset differences after getting some rest. Plus it's good to know that they seem to be having more discussions and giving you some early access to an unreleased product.

Maybe this time when the box says "open source ready" there will actually be some available. Laughing

Again, thank you and Kong for your continued work, without it I would have had a few broken windows due to junky stock firmwares.
