Long-time DD-WRT lover, I just got a new R9000 after three hardware defective 8500's in a row. I'm going to stick with stock firmware while it's under warranty. It looks like they're still adjusting this firmware.
Have Kong and/or Brainslayer gotten test models yet? Happy to contribute to the general fund.

Been running the R9000 for 7 days, no issues at all. Running DD-WRT v3.0-r32753 std (07/19/17).
I don't use a lot of the services since I have a NAS that handles everything. This beast was just for the routing and processor power.
ooo i wanna jump the gun on this so badly. but ill wait. still have R7000 running like butter and i would imagine it gets better with the R9000. Stock firm is so bad since i dont know how to navigate everything properly.
edit: i went ahead and jumped the gun to install the build D:

Please post your thoughts. The DDWRT builds got so bad that I went back to the Netgear build.

Install is easy. Tbh i dont care much for anything above 150mbps as my ISP speeds are 100mbit down and like 10 up. But i care about local up on both wired and wireless of a constant 30-40mbits to deliver blurays within the house. I'll post the full thoughts later once i hear complains and praises from people in my place. so far everything is running smooth, not sure about AD band as i dont have an AD client.
I recommend 30/30/30 reset on flash. makes things run smoother.
I only use ddwrt cause its easier to manage the network and have a lan domain to connect to my other pcs easier from my work desk. so im only a subpar user.
Oh that was fast. There is already another build a tiny bit newer out (2017-08-09)
And I didnt even get to flash the one before yet...
By the way Kong if you are reading this, are there plans to support the R9000 with ddup as well?
Thank you for all your work brainslayer & Kong

Look into new build thread. Maybe more luck in Broadcom section. _________________ R6400v2 (boardID:30) - Kong 36480 running since 03/09/18 - (AP - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7800 - BS 31924 running since 05/26/17 - (AP - OpenVPN Client - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7000 - BS 30771 running since 12/16/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - OpenVPN Server - Transmission - DDNS - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R6250 - BS 29193 running since 03/20/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - DNSMasq - AdBlocking)
