Netgear R7500v2 update today didn't go well. I need help!

Luckily BrainSlayer did not post any builds since this bug came in, no idea how many models would have been affected. But he just added the commit to delete the bins from util-linux that collide with busybox bins.

Nice side effect is, that we know, that the R7500v2 can be easily recovered with the reset button that starts tftpd recovery server.
Have to check if this also works on the R7800.
This makes these units undestroyable:-)

Love the idea of not needing breaking open case and serial cable to debrick! No more usb to TTL nightmare!

ya i dont think current svn is in a state for another public release. many units are still oversized etc & all the lib changes will surely break something.

do u mean the regular netgear tftp? that same tftp mode works on all netgear units, broadcom, qca, mediatek. they are hard to brick. r7800 is the same.

Yes it starts the tftpd that you normally start through serial. Thus simply press reset then power on keep it pressed for about 10s and the power light will blink which means tftpd is waiting for the client to send the new firmware.
