Can someone please make a sticky post with links and descriptions to firmware that is most stable with best performance? Maybe it could be updated regularly? I'm finding it very daunting searching through many forum posts to make a decision.
From what I've read, Kong's r30700M version is the most stable version based on many forum posts, but I can't find any links to obtain this version.
Can someone please link a download for Kong's r30700m for wrt1900ACv1 stock to dd-wrt? I'm running on an older unstable version of OpenWRT from back when there was no dd-wrt image... Ya, it's time I fix this thing!
Both of these run well with the latest builds and cybrnook's has the very latest wireless drivers.

Can I install/setup Lede similarly to how I would DD-WRT? I've never used it before. Only DD-WRT and Tomato. _________________ WRT1900AC V1 @ LEDE r4576-4.4

OpenWRT seems too advanced for me. I'm no network engineer, so I prefer simpler options that DD-WRT offers. I spent like 1 hour researching on just how to set the DNS when I first flashed the router it and it made no logical sense to me...
Do you feel that OpenWRT is more stable than Kong's build or any other Dev build?
Do you think Kong's 30700 is the most stable build? Do you have an image somewhere that you can pm me?
I noticed you experiment a lot and are very active in this forum, so your feedback is very appreciated.

IMO, the latest kong build is the best yet. However I frequently switch to LEDE as the performance is just unmatched. I prefer the DD-WRT GUI which is why I come back to it every now and then.

Thanks!
You probably have had experience with Openwrt without the web ui and had to configure the files with a text editor. The 2 devs I referenced both provide builds with the Luci web interface which makes it easy to configure.

I agree. LEDE provides me with better wireless performance then DD-WRT. I run LEDE most of the time, but to install DD-WRT from time to time to see how they are doing. Big reason that I always flash from the Linksys UI. Easy then to go from stock to LEDE to DD-WRT.
I think that latest Kong ddwrt r31100 (01/08/17) is a most stable build right now because its based on the latest Marvel driver 10.3.2.0-20170103. As we discuss many times before the stability of 5 Ghz AC is fully depends of closed source Marvel driver and not related to Kong or Lede builds and nothing we can do about it.
The Lede builds throughput is little bit better probably coz of Kernel 4 but not user friendly even with web ui and reserved for software developers or advanced users. The DDwrt user interface is so much better for normal users with existence of great forum and router database. Its all personal preference
Here is the link for stock to Kong r30700 WRT1900ac v1

I checked your reference, the file was removed from Dropbox. It would be nice if someone hosted the stable versions of these firmwares. That's the purpose of this post (and also for me to get a copy, ha!)

I can access both sites without any issue and download files. Not sure what your issue is. Keep in mind that DD-WRT and Openwrt/LEDE builds are all beta. No final builds.

If you check you will find that now cybrnook has a stable branch and a beta branch. Stable branch is what LEDE is calling stable. No changes made to it.
