Hi,
I'm sorry if this has already been answered but this is my first time trying to install DD-WRT and obviously don't want to mess this up.
I just need confirmation that the below steps I take to flash DD-WRT (first time) are accurate or if I'm missing something?

From my reading so far, it looks like the process to install is thus:

Disable wireless; have reliable power source
30-30-30 reset of router
Login to router
Flash Initial Chk (dd-wrt.K3_R7000.chk)
Wait to Reboot completely
30-30-30 reset of router
Login to DD-WRT interface
Update to (dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_ARM_STD.bin)
30-30-30 reset of router
Continue with setup

Question .. Do i need to do a 30-30-30 Reset every time listed? Is it overkill? Anything i missed?

Maybe someone more knowledgeable can weigh in on this as well, but I don't believe the R7000 needs a 30-30-30 reset. If memory serves correct when I flashed mine, you may replace it with an nvram erase. Otherwise your steps are correct.

Forget about 30-30-30 as it is not applicable to R7000 and also forget about dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_ARM_STD.bin as dd-wrt.K3_R7000.chk is all you need. As per the readme file from Kong: http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-Arm/Supported%20Models you can flash dd-wrt.K3_R7000.chk directly from Netgear factory firmware.

You may find this helpful after you have dd-wrt working on your R7000: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=264152
