Getting WDS to work with ECB1750 AP and ddwrt ECB3500 client

I have an EnGenius ECB1750 which has Qualcomm Atheros QCA9558 chip working as AP and ECB3500 with dd-wrt as client. I have tried all options I can think of and cannot get WDS to work between them. Am I trying to achieve the impossible?

If the ECB1750 is QualCcomm it won`t work properly with your ECB3500 which is Atheros. I had one working once , but with issues.
