Hello all,

I was wondering how multiple VAPs / SSIDs impact the wifi signal strengths.

Let's say I am broadcasting one SSID with a signal strength of 100 milliwatts. How does the signal strength change if create a VAP and broadcast its SSID over the same physical network adapter? Is each SSID broadcasted with 100 milliwatts/each (total 200 milliwatts) or does each SSID broadcast with 50 milliwatts/each (total 100 milliwatts)?

Thanks for helping me understand.

Regards
Kai

You got it all wrong. Think of it as a commercial advertising board. It shows one advertisement for one product and then changes to the next product. That does not say that one product is shown brighter than the next one.
