A workaround is using your PC to download the file and then use WinSCP to transfer it to the router. Another way is downgrade the firmware to an older one that use older BusyBox with version other than 1.26.2 as many said that the problem with wget is with BusyBox 1.26.2

I am trying to download regularly automatically so it should be from the router, so this busybox how can I find the verison that I have? Is it possible to install the full-featured wget somehow, like with optware or similar?
Oh, it seems like I misunderstood your problem. I tried wget on my build for EA6500 v1 with BusyBox 1.26.2 and https also not working for wget. Probably wget only work for http or ftp URL.
