Hi - My buddy is unable to get any decent broadband at his house due to wire install costs. So his neighbor, about 300-400 feet away, agreed to let him use his guest network. We couldn't get a straight usable signal, so first tried a WRT160N as a repeater in my friend's window, which got us about 15 Mbps down and 5 up. He then asked what a better router might do, so I brought over my R7000, and set it up in repeater mode. There I got about 35 down and 5 up, a noticeable improvement.
My question - In this scenario, where we're using the device in repeater mode is about 300-400 feet from the source router (which I think was an Asus RT-AC68U if I remember). Do you guys think that an R6700 would get me nearly as much as an R7000? I'm curious on how much the 450 vs 600 would actually make when we're talking that long of a distance.

Thanks in advance for any advice!!!
It wouldnt make any difference, R6700 is an R7000 with crippled firmware, flash ddwrt and you have R7000.
But try also to configure one radio as a client and the other as AP, make a client on first radio and AP on second, then the opposite, compare the speed with each setup and decide Accordingly
