can dd-wrt be configured as a plain old router?

The reason I like tomato is after you install it, right out of the box, the router functions as a router.

Like the router in the picture here:

I must be missing something simple. I cannot figure out how to configure dd-wrt as a plain old router. I find the tutorials, I find the tutorial for Wireless Access Point, but I do not find a tutorial for router.

On a WRT54G with dd-wrt, when I go into configuration, and the default on the wireless pull down is AP, meaning access point? See the picture, on the link above, I do not want an access point, I want a router. There is no router on the pull down.

What am I missing?

Setup->Advanced Routing->Operating Mode

Default is Gateway (with NAT turned on)

You can change it to Router (NAT turned off)

Or a Routing advertising protocol like RIP2, BGP or OSPF etc.
