Hello
I'm new to DD WRT, previously was using standard tp-link and wds connected fine
Let me just mention my layout, i have a router upstairs with has DHCP enabled, it provides ip address to all connected devices
Downstairs i have tplink router which is hard wired to the upstairs.
The problem is i have another tplink in another room and running a cable is a pain, hence i was using WDS on the official firmware to connect both of them and having a 3rd access point connected wirelessly.
I installed dd-wrt on both today but can't get them connected, been at this all day, even when the 2nd 841n was broadcasting wlan it wasn't assigning an IP address nor could I connect to its gateway.
Sorry for the long post but might have another crack at this tomorrow so would like some help.
I followed the instructions to link wds router's but it didn't help.

You need to specify which hardware version. Ver.7 will work with 7 and older. 9,10,11 and 12 will work together. Ver.8 is questionable. Mix and match will occasionally work wired but with issues but anything wireless needs to be same hardware version.
