Hello,

I'm new to this forum and i have some newb questions. Does it matter if my router version is 11.1 and the DD-WRT firmware is v11 only. Same support ?
Is this the correct file to upload ? ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/05-02-2017-r31924/tplink_tl-wr841ndv11/tl-wr841nd-webflash.bin ? I must specify it's a brand new router, not even plugged in (yet).

Thank you!

I think you are good on the version number. But if you are putting dd-wrt on for the first time I believe you need one of the "factory to dd-wrt" files from the same folder, rather than the webflash file, which is for upgrading a router that already has dd-wrt on it.

Thank you very much for your reply, it was easier than i thought but now i encounter another problem i can't wrap my head around. I can't get 300 mbps rate up. Any settings i should do ?

Thank you for your help !

For future noobs like me who want to install DD-WRT on this device follow these easy steps:

Download the following files:
factory-to-ddwrt.bin
tl-wr841nd-webflash.bin

First step is to upload and update via web browser the file factory-to-ddwrt.bin
After update is successful do another update on the DD-WRT firmware to finalize the installation with the file tl-wr841nd-webflash.bin

Easy as that ! Shocked

*Make sure you are connected via LAN with automatic IP
*In case of lower rate make sure you select HT40 wide channel in settings (as mentioned above)
