|
I have a Netgear r7000 running latest 31890M Kong build:
It is setup as an WAP with static ip and DHCP/DNSMASq disabled. All DHCP is being done by an external router. The reason for external dhcp is because I plan to have two r7000 WAPs in final setup.
| Internet | --- | external router/dhcp | --- | r7000 WAP |
External router has 3 vlans setup with three subnets and a dhcp server for each subnet (i.e. 192.168.1.0/24, 192.168.2.0/24 and 192.168.3.0/24). External router has gateways ips for each subnet (i.e. 92.168.1.1, 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.3.1).
The r7000 is setup with 3 WLANs (wl0, wl0.1 & wl0.2), 3 VLANS (vlan1, vlan3 and vlan4) and 3 Bridges (br0, br1 and br2) ... see screenshots below.
The issue is related to DHCP:
- When I connect to wl0 all works fine, I get ip from external router dhcp.
- When I connect to wl0.1 or wl0.2, I DO NOT get ip from external router dhcp. But can manually assign ip & gw and all works fine.
- When I connect via Ethernet cable to ports 3 (vlan3) or port 4 (vlan4), all work fine and I get dchp address from external router.
