I have connected a Brother MFC-J6520DW network printer to the dd-wrt router but can not be reached through the browser. The printer regularly communicates with the internet but not with devices connected to the network.
I tried the same device and printer with other routers and everything works regularly. Help me, thank you
DD-WRT Router Name
Model Router TP-Link TL-WR841ND v9
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r32753 std (07/19/17)
Kernel Linux Version 3.18.61 # 6885 Wed Jul 19 02:32:55 CEST 2017 mips
Can you to public here your LAN setup (without MACs and external IPs) for your router and printer?
Can you enter to printer's web page from other browser / computer / tablet / phone? If you want.
I tried with the tablet and the printer responds, even the ping. If I wanted to fix it to get it from other devices as well, what are the options I need to modify?
Thank you.
Can you enter to printer's interface from your tablet?
If you can do it, the problem in your computer/browser/firewall, not with the router. You can try to change browser (to Chrome for example) and disable the firewall for a few minutes. If you will enter to the printer, check your computer.
I've done a lot of tests to test this situation.
All tests carried out with the network sk failed. I used Win10, WinXP, Linux Firefox, IE and Chrome.
I tried with the same computers and configurations, without modifying anything, with a WiFi card and the connection to the printer was successful. I'm going for ping. Finally I did the same tests with another router and all the tests, eth and wifi went well.
Other I do not know. I'm looking for some more specific tests that I can do.
See you.
If it is the router problem, how can the tablet work with it? Check the printer port binding. The printer IP port is bound to the specific IP address in the windows driver. If you have ... 2 printers, you'll have 1 driver and 2 ports with fixed IP addresses. I use fixed IP for my printer because it can get very addresses and the computer may not see the printer. Another router - another address.
I tried with my other TP-Link 1043 ND v3 (dd-wrt latest version) router and did not encounter any problems. I tried connecting the peripherals directly to the modem router and did not encounter problems. I think the problem is 841ND but I have no idea what it is.
