Hi guys,

I have been using DD-WRT for a while but first time posting on the forum. I hope I'm not asking a dumb question, but I seem to be having multiple "minor" issues with using DD-WRT on my Netgear R7000. Every time my WAN IP address changes from my ISP, my router seems to have a hard time updating it and my internet connection drops. Here is some configuration info:

1. I am running build 32170 but this has been going on for months so I dont think it's this particular build.
2. I am using DNSMasq for DHCP and DNS. My DNS server addresses point toward OpenDNS.
3. I regularly VPN into my home network using the VPN setup tab on DD-WRT, so since I have a dynamic IP from my ISP I use no-ip.com for a DDNS service. I have the DDNS updater configured on the router for that as well.
4. I am using HE Tunnel Broker for an IPv6 tunnel, but these issues began before I created the tunnel.

On a (probably) unrelated note, I've had some other weird happenings as well. Every time my router power cycles, I have to telnet into it to re-enable the Web GUI. Also, whenever I try to create a guest wireless network, it screws everything up and I lose my internet connection.

Please let me know if you guys have any suggestions or need any additional info.

Thanks in advance!

When was the last time you reset to factory defaults and set up your config from scratch?

Have you initially done a "erase nvram", not factory default in webif or reset button? Some leftovers from other firwares in nvram only get cleared out by erase nvram, see it as a low level format unlike just deleting files.

When I initially flashed DD-WRT onto my router I made sure to erase the nvram

Do it every time you install a new build. While it isn't always necessary, there is no way for you to know when it is and isn't. Best practice is to erase every time and reapply your settings by hand (not from a save set or using a tool). It's tedious, but necessary.
