I'm done with DDWRT on my WRT1900ACv1. Every build I tried yesterday (new BS, old BS, Kong) either had reboot issues or horrible wifi. Even the highly recommended ones like 31924. I would get up to 30mbps on 5ghz but not stable. It was mostly topping out at 10mbps.

I flashed back to Linksys default and my 5ghz wifi speeds rocketed to max out my internet speed at 240mbps. I have since put a different 3rd party firmware on it with the same great results.

Not posting to bash DDWRT, but advise WRT1900ACv1 owners with my experience.

Hello,

I have installed the r32597 on WRT-1900ACSv2. Everything fine. With No VPN I get approx 80Mbps, but the speeds with NordVPN are 30Mbps compared to my ISP speed of 120Mbps. Could any one reccommend any settings ?

Yes david makes a very good LEDE build with all the latest drivers as well. Have run it for periods of time. I am one of those that is always trying something new with the firmware.

Yes I am currently running his 4.4 kernel build. I didn't want to advocate something besides DDWRT in this forum which is why I didn't say what firmware.

@ptr1ck

It's touchy. I agree. Kinda feels wrong, but I take the attitude that we are all trying to help each other find the best solution.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for the feedback!

I agree this is a DD-WRT forum, but the goal is to install the best and most stable router software.

I have 31924 installed on my wrt1900ACv1 and it is running great. no issues. I do auto reboot every night and maybe that is helping with stability.

No need for me to move to LEDE unless the 4.x kernel cannot work on the v1 device.

My WRT1200 is my secondary router (10.0.2.1) and I cant access the subnet from my main network (10.0.1.1) I used the line below with a R7000 I have, and with that router I can access the network. Is this a bug? Anyone else having this issue?

iptables -I FORWARD -s 10.0.1.0/24 -j ACCEPT

Hello All, I'll apologize for the lenghty post now...

I'm brand new to dd-wrt. I just bought a WRT1900ACSV2 in order to use a VPN for various reasons.

Just last night, I hooked it up and successfully loaded on r32597. It started off well but ended with constant problems. I can start another thread if needed as I'm sure a good bit of my issues are probably due to my inexperience/lack of knowledge of dd-wrt thus far.

The biggest issue was when I enabled WPA2 Personal encryption with AES. As soon as I did this all connections went bad. I had ath0 and ath1 both set to Full and Mixed or Auto for everything. I also tried going to 40Mhz or 80Mhz but had the same issues. I tried following a few different basic setups from various forums and websites with no consistent results.

At one point, with no encryption on 5ghz, I hit 120Mbps down and ~20Mbps up even though I pay for 100/10 from ISP. I was shocked and happy as hell until I added encryption and the next test tanked to 8 up/2 down....I haven't been able to get it remotely stable since. I tried resetting to defaults and the only way I can stay connect to the wifi is by running no encryption.

I experienced issues such as chrome locking up/slowly responding for 10 seconds (which has never happened prior to hooking to this router with r32597), changing a simple setting (such as SSID name/channel etc) and then both ath0 and ath1 would reject the security key or simply not connect. My phone might connect to 2 but not 5Ghz, my PC wouldn't connect to either or just 2.

So, I read I should reload the stock FW, load on r31899, and reset to default settings and start over. Is that a more stable release?

What other settings should I try? Any and all help is appreciated, thanks.

If anyone would like to take the time to discuss my issues with me via PM, that'd be fantastic.

I just noticed, it's using Linux 4.9.36. Good to see kernel finally updated.

Code:
Linux 4.9.36 #27 SMP Thu Jul 6 15:08:58 CEST 2017 armv7l

It runs well so far on my Linksys WRT1900ACS.

I lost lock on this thread. Do you have a Linksys WRT1900ACS V2 and you are running r32597 on it? I am running r31899 on my WRT1900ACS V2 because later builds do not connect to the WAN. I'd prefer to use a later build, but only after I understand that someone has it working properly.

Thanks.

I am not sure this is right post to ask or create a new post. I am using DD-WRT build 28628 from day one and I am waiting next stable release build in the router database. So

1. when would be the next stable build will be released ?
2. Will it possible with next stable release would support Backup and Restore configurations ? It is painful to go through each settings manually.

Thanks

I doubt the "stable" version is much better than the current "beta" one. But may be experts here can correct me.
