I have a problem with nvram cleanup or factory reset i uploaded the latest dd-wrt versions to Asus RT-N12 d1 "dd-wrt.v24-32753_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega_RT-N12B1.trx" i set the network name i set ip to 192.168.255.255 then i do not have Communication with the router or after ssh or telenet or www reset 30/30/30 does not work the reset button does not change the upload of another software eg tomato by asus frimware resoration results in a soft run back to dd-wrt even if the nvram clean up Tomato causes a return to the ddwrt or ip 192.168.255.255 settings and the network name set up. How can I reset the settings in dd-wrt?

Your post make NO sense.... Rolling Eyes
You might try to clarify what you are doing.
and
192.168.255.255 is a broadcast IP and CANNOT be used for the routers IP.

I suggest you use the reset button then contact the router at 192.168.1.1
also know that most ASUS routers w/dd-wrt you need to use the WPS button rather than the actual reset button

after a reset ---
if it has tomato firmware:
default UID = admin or you can use root
PW = admin

after a reset if it has dd-wrt on it you will be taken to a page to set username & password

Should be able to hold reset button in for 17 - 20 seconds.
Power light should slowly flash.

If power light is slow flash you can TFTP the firmware to router.
Use original ASUS firmware or tomato firmware for the RTN12D1.

Need TFTP for Windows computer.
Need static IP on computer.
Send to router at IP 192.168.1.1
wait at least 4 minutes after send successful.

Every other frimware works fine, only ddwrt does not want, and only on this router on another works. The reset button holds 60 sec

The rtn12d1 was never supported by dd-wrt Wink

Some people use ddwrt on it anyway but there are variations of the rtn12d1.

I have 2 of them and use ddwrt k2.6 mini generic or mega genric builds.

k3.x_mega.bin also works for mine but some people can't make it work....???

Better to stay with tomato firmware on rtn12d1

Ddwrt is better than tomato when it comes to stability and range or are you planning to release versions under Asus rt-n12 d1 ???
