Hey, first forgive me, I'm new to DD-WRT, and while I did read the announcements. I want to apologize if I missed something.

Anyway, here is my question. I'm currently using a netgear R6300, and I was happy using build Kong K3-AC (dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC) The problem I'm having now, is I recently upgraded my internet for 150/15. When I was running at 70/10 the connection was fine, normally hitting 70-80 down, but now that I have my new 150down, I'm only getting 50-60 down.

Assuming it was an issue with the ISP, I followed the power cycle process, and connected directly to my modem, confirmed that I was getting the 150 (and actually closer to 200 from my ISP), Connected back to the DD-WRT, got the same results, of between 50-65 down.

Next, I flashed back to the latest Netgear R6300 build, to remove that the issue may be the router, and after connecting to my surprise, speeds where back to the 150 -200 just as if I was connecting directly to the modem.

So, it looks like the common denominator may be the build for the router. I'm wondering if maybe it's an older version of the build and I should be using something newer?

Searching the forms, I see DavePlus has posted with success using DD-WRT v3.0-r32753 giga (07/19/17). I didn't want to hi-jack his thread, but wanted to confirm, before re-flashing with this other build, if I'm moving in the right direction or if there is a better/newer/stable version...or if I'm just crazy and all my test where pointless and I should go back to Kong even with the slower DL?

Any thought/direction/information would be appreciated.

Kong only lists the R6300V2 as supported: http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-Arm/Supported%20Models

So I think you should use BS builds: ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/

Regarding speed, I think the V1 has a dual core 600 MHz CPU which should be able to hit 150 Mb/s, I have an R6400 (which is comparable to V2) which can hit about 300 MB/s.

Stock firmware has CTF which speeds up WAN<>LAN throughput, the latest DDWRT builds have a comparable option called SFE (Shortcut Forwarding Engine) on the Setup page there is a button under optional settings which is enabled by default (maybe not in the BS build).
With SFE turned on I can hit almost 600Mb/s Smile

However even without SFE/CTF I think you should be able to hit at least 150 Mb/s but I have no personal experience with your router. (If you have a lot of other things running like QOS then of course you take a hit)

The latest two builds have GUI glitches, it seems that they will be resolved in the next build.

With a single core 600Mhz processor, max is 110Mbit/sec.

Is that a limitation using DD-WRT? Because with the stock Netgear Firmware, I'm getting 196.35Mbps Down and 16.43Mbps up through the router. I just tested.

Hey, Thanks to both of you for your help. I wanted to just pop back to close the topic and let you know I'm back up to full speed. I finally got time today to reinstall DD-WRT. I pulled the latest from the Beta List 8/3/2017 version, and it's working great. I'm back up to 200/16 and all my settings are working.

thanks again!
