Hi, new here to the forum but been using DD-WRT for a long time.

So I'm using this version on my TP-Link wr1043nd v2:

DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/23/14) std
(SVN revision 24461)

and want to ugprade to a latest one which is
ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/08-03-2017-r33006/tplink_tl-wr1043nd-v2/

so i tried downloading this ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/08-03-2017-r33006/tplink_tl-wr1043nd-v2/tplink_tl-wr1043nd-v2.bin and then doing this

so i did it, waited like 120 seconds and then went back to 192.168.1.1 and it's still at the same version.

Looked all over the place and could not find anything related, can someone give me a tip? thx Very Happy

well you have 3 options...
corrupted NVRAM/FLASH
corrupted Firmware
or bad flashing procedure...

did you do erase nvram && reboot via SSh/Telnet?
https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Hard_reset_or_30/30/30

reset to factory settings before upload and after new firmware, fixes some issues with
Atheros units...

did you use Firefox browser with clear cookies and internet cache ?

try all this things and report if there are more issues...
if web GUI is not accepting the new firmware you can try
TFTP or serial instead..

Look at the size of the file you linked. It's too big for your flash chip. Browse the release folder and find one small enough.

opps....!!

nope its not too big this is the normal size Smile
I guess Malachi hasn't check it.. but i have the same unit so its correct...size
report from same unit flashed with 33006

http://dd-wrt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=310490&start=45

also you can try 32170 or 32597 those are few builds before SFE was introduced...33006 suppose to be SFE still in development...

It says the file is 8.06MB. The router has an 8MB flash.
Of course I don't have the router. Just going by past experience that the file needs to be smaller than the flash.

7,68 MB (8 060 956 bytes)
7,68 MB (8 060 956 bytes)
7,68 MB (8 060 956 bytes)

this is the size of few randomly selected builds from my
personal firmware selection....all those builds are/ware
running on my devices Smile so i guess size is not a problem..
