I have Comcast cable Internet with an advertised speed of 100Mbit/s downloads. When I connect my PC directly to the cable modem, I get 130.14Mbit/s download speeds.
I have two routers running DD-WRT firmware: an older Cisco E1200 (v24-21061), and a brand new Asus RT-N16 (v24-14896).
With the Cisco router between my PC and the modem, my download speeds drop to 46.67 Mbit/s.
I ordered the Asus router hoping that it would solve the problem, but my download speed is only 63.78Mbit/s while using it.
Are there some DD-WRT configurations I can change to improve the throughput?

First, read the Peacock announcement. 14896 is a bad build; the Router Database does not give recommended builds.
See NAT/CTF in my signature. However, the good news is that build 33006 now has accelerated NAT, so you can try that; read the New Build thread. Just don't use it with micro build routers. _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#

I tested the following commands from the NAT/CTF thread, bringing my download speed to 81.27Mbit/s:
Code:
nvram set et_dispatch_mode=1
nvram commit
reboot
I'll take a look at upgrading to build 33006 as well.
Edit: I looked at the 33006 downloads, but I don't see a subdirectory for the Asus RT-N16. Do you know if any of the builds might work?
You won't need that option w/ 33006. The builds for RT-N16 are in here. Looking at the outdated wiki, use the {mini, mega, big}.bin file, depending on desired features...see Types in my signature, in the k2.6 table. You don't need trailed builds (w/ the name in the file) when you're already running DD; this is in the Peacock, though not as clear as it should be. The nv60k and nv64k files are for different router types. _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#

I just clocked in at 130.18 Mbit/s on the new build (v3.0-r33006). Everything is running perfectly now.
See that was easy.
Out of curiousity, did you reset after flashing 33006? And did you disable et_dispatch_mode? I had forgotten about that parameter; I'm curious about its use with SFE. Maybe Kong will chime in... /nudge _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#
