To make a long story short:
My network set up:

ADSL Modem(DHCP/PPPoE/TV/NO ADMIN RULES)
Router: Linksys EA8500.
IPv4 Gateway Modem: 192.168.0.1
range: 192.168.0.5 - 192.168.0.127
(Default before problem issue)
IPv4 Gateway Linksys: 192.168.1.1
range: 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.150
No the problem i have is on my router:
Everyting was working fine before i started using TELNET:

I was doing command in telnet:
ubootenv get boot_part// ubootenv set boot_part 2
erase nvram // nvram commit //
wget (adres to firm ip) linux //
write (bin file or img file) EA8500factory-to-ddwrt.img
then ubootenv set boot_part 1// and again the same as above.
Then i did stupid!!!
ubootenv get boot_part 1 // erase nvram // commit nvram
ubootenv set boot_part 2 // erase nvram // commit nvram
then i used a command to del aswell i think it was:
ubootenv del boot_part on both partitions.
write EA8500-ddwrt-to-factory.bin
got an error like cant write file(sort of)

My config that are used is kinda like this cant remember exactly.
To the point i wanted both boot_partitions to be deleted,
and reinstall on both partitions, the first factory to ddwrt .img file, so they had a fresh boot parts on both partions, and then i was going to upgrade both partitions
to latest build r33006 std from Brains build,
or latest KONG build suitable for me(IPv6):
r32170M kongat cause that build was working for IPv6
and Dual PPPoE with DHCP server and QoS.

It was working before for me before i did the telnet commands.

After i finished TELNET commands i did reboot!!

System reboots: OK
System runs DD-wrt as seen on router: OK
Try opening default webpage: 192.168.1.1 : NOT OK!!
Could not find the default gateway ip adress.

I went to my computer network settings:
to set up the static route:
IP device 192.168.1.131(was my last IP working)
netmask : 255.255.255.0
gateway : 192.168.1.1

Then again try for webpage default 192.168.1.1
Still no response/ went cmd* on pc
ipconfig/release . ipconfig/renew(cant do that on static)
turned off static / set to auto ip settings:
ipconfig/release . ipconfig/renew

On my detailed settings from network adapter:
i get to see : DHCP = No
IP device = something around : 165.200.45.36
i am getting no default IPv4 gateway
i could only see a default IPv6 gateway.
so ipconfig commands doesnt help here with no DHCP
and no default gateway to connect to
static adres doesnt work aswell..

And the biggest problem i have yet is:
My reset button isnt responding anymore:
before 30/30/30 was working well, he was resetting(default)
now when i press 30sec reset doesnt do anything,
pulling power cord out remaining to hold 30sec
power on: and again 30sec.
Still no changes were made to the router:
im on the same IP adres range around 165.......
tryed to maybe add my ip to set in internet browser to connect, doenst work aswell.

I cant do anyting with the router at this moment,
No reset responds, power cycle neither(with cable/without cables)

Tryed using telnet to connect to 192.168.1.1(With static IP/Without aswell)
I get no respond aswell,

Pinging to the adress nothing found,
Pinging to adress repeatedly while powering on/off router
to try and flashimg to router with TFTP/SSH/TELNET.
No respond.

I hope you guys understand my issue better :/
I will upload some more specs about ipconfig/all
and my network settings, but i said everything on here
allready so not much to find there.
I really hope one of you guys seen this before,
and hopefully know how to regain connection with the router, and getting it to work again.

I want to add one more thing...
If i connect the router to my modem on WAN port
with auto ip settings;
it connect dericktly to my modem with the same settings as modem: gateway and ip from the given ip range from modem:
is if you just would connect your pc to modem without router.
Then tryed opening the gateway for my router doesnt work:
Opening gateway from my modem(default 192.168.0.1)
Its prompts my modem web interface to login.

So that means my router is still working and there is nothing wrong with the ports they stay connected as if.

The issue is when i use LAN port to router,and/or
try to connect to the routers gateway that is doesnt respond(Static/Auto)

Thanks for reading! Reply me thanks.

To be honest, I'm not quite sure what the issues is because I stopped reading pretty early one. I think most would rather not read a short story.

Short and to the point is best.

If you forgot the ip address to your dd-wrt router, just do a 30-30-30 hard reset.
With the router plugged in.

  1. Hold the reset button for at least 30 seconds
  2. Unplug the power cord at either the router side or the wall side, doesn't matter. Keep the reset button pushed in. Wait at least another 30 seconds
  3. Plug the power back in with a the reset button still held in. Wait another 30 seconds, then release the reset button.

This should reset all of the router's settings back to default (what they were when you first put dd-wrt on the router. The ip address of the router will be 192.168.1.1, subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. DHCP will be turned on but wireless may not be (I can't remember at this time), used to be an unsecured wireless network called dd-wrt.

  1. First of all, explain where the computer is connected.

  2. Second, is the Linksys router hard-wired to the modem, from the ethernet ports on the modem to the WAN port on the router?

  3. Third. Unplug everything from the router and except the power and an ethernet cord connected to your computer (no WAN connection, just LAN, no connection to the modem). Try to log in to 192.168.1.1.

If that does not work, than more than most likely you have bricked your router, congratulations.

If it does come, up you should be good to go. The router is working, it is just a settings issue. Go to the Admin tab, then Factory Defaults and click enable, then click apply. The router will reboot and the ip address will be 192.168.1.1, it should ask you to set a username and password.

If you did brick it, then you will have to recover most likely using serial or if it is really bad, JTAG.

Computer is connected to LAN port of Router.
Router is hard wired to modem via WAN port/ tryed LAN port to.
I did try unconnect all cables from router only the one connected to the computer on the LAN port, still cant connect to 192.168.1.1(static neither).
I think bricked and i screwed up.
I've read the forums for Serial_recovery and JTAG,
It all seems so difficult to find the correct Serial USB for my router, or find on selling third-party site's that i dont really trust.
and the JTAG looks even more difficult.

I was hoping on a handle able way for me to regain connection, without opening the motherboard of my router, and connect it with some cable's to reset.
But if thats the only option, i paid abit to much for this router to just throw it in the trash and dont bother.
and there really is no other way?
I was thinking maybe put a firmware with a script on USB
connect usb and make it set the firmware on the router or connect usb to usb of computer something like that,
or regaining WIFI and try configuring on that but no signal.

Thanks for the reply sir.

So no JTAG

Only Serial_recovery is the option,
do you maybe know wich specifiek cable i need to buy
for my Linksys EA8500 to make it work?
Or forum guide/tutorial to do it on my router.
Should it be done as shown here?

Malachi, said that router does not have JTAG, so serial is the only option.

Just order one of these off of ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FT232RL-3-3V-5-5V-FTDI-USB-to-TTL-Serial-Adapter-Module-for-Arduino-Mini-Port-/

You will need wires such as these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/10cm-2-54mm-Female-to-Female-Dupont-Wire-Jumper-Cable-for-Arduino-Breadboard-/

There is no other way to recover the router other than opening up the case at this point. You can try TFTP without having the serial connected but then it is very hit or miss.

That is the exact way to recover that router by the looks of it.

If you google dd-wrt serial recovery, I have a knife in there for the type of cable I use.
I buy that type from eBay. I usually buy a few at a time because I occasionally get careless and hook the ground up to vcc and have fried them.

The ones ian posted will work.

So should i buy the cable mentioned on : http://mrjcd.com/EA8500_DD-WRT/

or the one's you linked me ? https://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_itemId=null&_nkw=FT232RL+3+3V+5+5V+FTDI+USB+to+TTL+Serial+Adapter+Module+for+Arduino+Mini+Port&_trksid=p2047675.m4100.l9146

I would buy the one I link in the wiki or the ones that ian5142 linked.
In my early days, I bought 3 of the ones like in mrjcd's guide and none worked.

If you don't mind the wait order these http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-2-0-to-TTL-UART-6PIN-Module-Serial-Converter-CP2104-STC-PRGMR-Replace-CP2102-/200958955841?epid=1667559438&hash=item2eca165141:g:7BoAAOxy7AxSIt2c

Nice and cheap. Like I said I buy them in bulk.

as the looks of it i need a cable with only connector
holes in it, not with the pins cause http://www.ebay.com/itm/FT232RL-3-3V-5-5V-FTDI-USB-to-TTL-Serial-Adapter-Module-for-Arduino-Mini-Port-/162008634869?hash=item25b87795f5

has pins

and as seen on the picture on my router pins aswell,
im confused
