RT-N16 does not have this size problem, yet it is also bricked.
Are you sure its not a size problem? Cause I used the k2.6 micro build on a Linksys 320N just fine its also a broadcom based.
I also used the free r33257 on a x64 build on pc here and it boots fine.
Is your firmware file over 30MB? I see it supposed to have 32MB worth of flash memory for your bricked router. The router that is bricked here only has 8mb of flash space and it is slowly climbing up to that limit.

The router is stuck in a reboot loop with r33257. Going to have to get a USB to TTL device to revert it back to previous firmware.
Its 100% caused by the firmware being too large.
Wierd but my n66u did same nothing would change till i tried to flash it with my laptop and it worked on first try using recover from asus. My pc couldnt reach tftp or use recover i could get webgui 1 out of 50 trys no idea why the laptop worked. My advice try a differnt computer to flash it with and see if that works.

To be sure,
Code:
tftp -4 -m binary 192.168.1.1 -c put dd-wrt.v24-33215_NEWD-2_K3.x_big.bin
produces a working RT-N16.
Code:
tftp -4 -m binary 192.168.1.1 -c put dd-wrt.v24-33257_NEWD-2_K3.x_big.bin
doesn't. _________________ 2 times APU2 Opnsense 21.1 with Sensei

This build fit on my e3000...it just bricked it.
I couldn't recover with Serial....I had to use TJTAG to recover this one. (There is no mtd command in the E3000 cfe...I couldn't erase the kernel partition.)
The 33180 build was very large...then the 33215 came down in size and fit an 8M flash...but this build has had a kernel update (if I read correctly)...I believe the kernel in this build is actually what is causing the bricks for certain models.

I have to use a USB to TTL adapter to stop it from booting this bad firmware so I can start the tftp server to revert the firmware. I never done this before but it looks like I can do it easy. I just ordered the adapter today and I will not know until it gets here if it works. Last night I tried using the tftp with 6 plus instances trying to push the firmware and it did not work. I tried to push it when the pc was able to ping the router but the connection quits working right away.
