Got a window to install on my wrt3200.
Install went fine and wrt3200 is up and running without issue. Has not been up long and for those that might ask, no the wireless drivers have not been updated.
One observation is that the 5GHz wireless is slower then LEDE or OEM for some reason on my simple iperf test. This is not something new, has been true for lots of builds. Test is run between a desktop PC wirelessly connected to the router then to a PC that is Ethernet attached to router. Desktop is the client and the Ethernet attached PC is the server.

Installed last night on my WRT1900ACS V1 and not had any problems so far plus for me i'm getting little better speeds when moving files from my Seagate drive (ntfs) attached to the router over WiFi

Same version of wireless driver, 10.3.4.0-20170810, with DD-WRT and LEDE, unknown for Linksys, but this is the latest firmware.
As can be seen, in my test, DD-WRT is slowest and seems a little slower when browsing.
When you do your iperf tests, how are your router, wireless desktop, and wired desktop located located with respect to each other? In the same room or spaced throughout your house?
[warning, first time poster] I've been lurking here for a while and waiting to pull the trigger on installing dd-wrt on my wrt3200acm. Is there any reason not to go with the latest r33342 build?
It sounds like there were VPN and UPNP issues with recent builds. I care most about stability, speed, and some decent QoS options to tame iCloud over my cable internet connection. Do you think I'd get these and be equally happy with the latest LEDE official release?

Wireless PC is a desktop so does not move. Has one wall between it and router and is about 10 feet from router. The other PC is Ethernet attached to the router and in same room as the router. Pretty simple setup. The Ethernet attached functions as the iperf server. Both PC's are running Windows 10 Pro. _________________ Unifi Security Gateway:Unifi Firmware Netgear r7800:Voxel Firmware Modem:Netgear CM500V voice and Data. Thanks!
This build is running well on my wrt3200. I do not do VPN or UPNP so cannot comment on them. Have used QoS and it does work for me, but I typically don't bother to configure as I do not do things like play games.
One thing. This router is different then most others in that it has 2 partitions. When you install firmware it is always loaded into the inactive partition. Good to understand that. You will find 2 schools of thought about overlaying the Linksys partition so that it is available or overlay the Linksys firmware. I personally keep the Linksys partition available so I can load other 3rd party firmware easily such as LEDE/Openwrt or Gargoyle.
See the thread in my sig for lots of good info for someone new, if you have not read it already. It talks primarily about wrt1900, but info holds true to for the wrt3200.
I'm getting 60-62MB/s WRITE speed to a 2.5" drive in a USB3 enclosure on the USB3 port of the WRT. READ speed is 70-72MB/s. Getting close to the same speed as stock firmware.

Thanks, I've read some of your posts and links and they have been really helpful. That's a good point about the 2 partitions - I keep forgetting about that. The only annoying part of my setup is reconfiguring mythtv and my hd homerun tuners with the new IPs they get, then updating all the clients that use them. I'm coming from and old Airport Express that used the 10.x address space. I should probably tell dd-wrt to use the current 192.x IPs for them though. Once the network calms down I'll give it a shot.
