Hi, I would like to recognize an incoming IP telephone call for usage in my home automation (e.g. mute music, visual indication etc.). My setup is as follows:

Router TPLINK WR1043ND V3 with DD-WRT v3.0-r33342 std
Gigaset SL450A GO as a VOIP / DECT base station (192.168.3.253)

Port (range) forwarding for SIP and RTP as follows:
0 0 ACCEPT udp -- * * 0.0.0.0/0 192.168.3.253 udp dpt:5080
10 1648 ACCEPT udp -- * * 0.0.0.0/0 192.168.3.253 udp dpts:5004:5020
10 4356 ACCEPT udp -- * * 0.0.0.0/0 192.168.3.253 udp dpts:5060:5076

My telephone works, however, I do not see any packages / bytes on the above rules if a call is ringing. I also checked ip6tables (where no special forwards are configured) and there is also no indication.

As tcpdump cannot be installed on the WR1043ND V3 (I tried and the forum says the same), I am looking for a different solution. And actually I do not understand how the DECT phones are ringing, if no packets are send to the VOIP base station. So I am something missing here ...

Many thanks and kind regards,

Jens

An ip phone is not capable to do that kind of stuff, you need to look at a pbx (my preference is asterisk)

A phone then can send a command to the pbx, and the pbx can initiate a function / send a command to the desired device you want to command.

With a lot of work i imagine asterisk will be capable of doing whatever you need it to do, you will need to write your own software to do so
