This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Always state your hardware and SPECIFIC build (e.g. 33345_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. Please also do not respond to such questions. This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless.
If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build. _________________ [I prefer answere in whole sentence]

veddy berry BAD -- he goes into a bootloop
Try recover w/TFTP ... got just few seconds at power on to hit it.
Tried using [dd-wrt.v24-33215_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e2500.bin]
It went but wouldn't boot so then sent [FW_E2500_1.0.04.001_US_20111226.bin]
Sent firmware to it in every way you can imagine ---
Damn thing still won't boot -- slow blinking power light.
Guess I'll have to crack it open

Is it "2017-09-09" or "2017-09-11"? Is it just a typo or did you really download the older one dated 09-Sep?
You should have downloaded this one:

I originally uploaded build 33345 via firmware upgrade page on build 33215. Bricked.
Tried ASUS firmware restoration utility with dd-wrt-33345-Asus_RT-AC66U.trx and get an error dialog and all it says is "an unnamed file was not found".
Recovered back to 33215 using Asus restoration util and now both wl0 and wl1 report as 2.4Ghz (instead of 2.4 and 5 respectively) so can't configure 5Ghz wireless.
Getting a bit disillusioned with these recent builds.
Advice gladly accepted.
UPDATE: Just to note 33345 installed and seems to be running file on my R8500.
UPDATE: Went back to Asus stock firmware and showed 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz radios. Then tried to upgrade to 33215 again and back to both showing 2.4GHz. Reset to factory and went back to 33006 and still showing both as 2.4Ghz. Argggghhhhh. WTF
